Everything I do, I do it for the van 🚐
🛠 learning as I go, come along for the ride

POSTS STORIES REELS

You guys! I got a new van!
It took awhile, but I found a RAM ProMaster 3500 high roof extended length and could not be happier. I’m going to be documenting my new build, follow along for updates! #vanbuilding #vanconversion #vanbuild #vanbuilds #vanbuildseries #vanlifedreams #vanlifemovement #diyvanbuild by @diditforthevan

Hey van peeps, I recently sold my van 😿 it was a really tough decision, but I feel a little lighter. I hope to continue the van life dream and start over again. Thank you all for the tips and advice and I hope you see you guys on the road soon! 🚐 by @diditforthevan

Late post 🙂 I’ve insulated and covered my back doors. I want to put shiplap over, but I’m worried about how the pieces will line up, we’ll see 🙃 #vanbuilding #sprintervanbuild #sprinterbuild #vanconversion #vanbuild by @diditforthevan

Boo’s guarding our new Yeti 😍 it was too heavy to lift in the van 😂 #yeti3000x #yeti #goalzero by @diditforthevan

I’ve had some questions on how I framed my ceiling, so I thought I’d share. I wanted to save as much headroom as possible, saw how @furandfam framed their #tn1 (thanks guys!), followed their lead and added my own touches. It’s working great and holding up my ceiling and wool insulation 👍

Furring strips were screwed into the van ribs with self tappers + sheet metal screws. Of course one section of the roof ribs is at a different height than the others...This is the kind of stuff that gets in the way and takes up extra time during the build 😎 by @diditforthevan

MY VAN IS WIRED! Yes, I learned DC electric and I did it! Wire gauges, connectors, heat shrink, oh my! I have my lights wired to a split zone dimmer switch, fan wired and feel totally confident about moving forward. So confident that I took apart my dash and wired up a new stereo system 💁🏻‍♀️ More pics coming soon 😉 by @diditforthevan

Notice something? I put my floor in!! I gravitated toward dark wood or dramatic flooring, but I knew it would make this small space look even smaller. Went with super light and I’m glad I did. It makes the space look bigger and light floors won’t show nearly as much dog hair!

There were quite a few set backs, I was ready for this to be super straight forward and easy..3 days later, I’m finally done!

Video is of laying the pieces of laminate out, peep the cubby/floor extender I made! 😊 by @diditforthevan

When a van day goes your way! 🤣 B.C. (before ceiling) Everyday of the build there have been lots of struggles, small victories, lots of problem solving and the amazing feeling of watching it all come together. No matter how much I prep for the next van project, there are always little things that come up, but I keep believing in myself.

When I stated this build, I had no idea how to put a drill bit in a drill, now I’m here sitting on my newly installed floors. I love to build on my skills! 😉 by @diditforthevan

Floors and updates coming soon 😉 I’ve been working everyday on my van since beginning of July...my hands hurt a ton as I type this, but super excited for all the progress! Can’t wait to be finished, but lots more to go! by @diditforthevan

But first, let me take a selfie.. by @diditforthevan

Out with the old, in with the new! I’ve been checking out my framing for awhile now and it’s seemed like it could be thinner. Also I had to take down part of it to add my bed frame, it pays too pre-plan 🤦🏻‍♀️ Took it all down and added 3/4 plywood strips instead. I love that the plywood is sturdy, holds in the wool and has a little flex that allows it to bend with the curves of the van. Going to save a little space for sure! 😍#diyvanconversion #vanbuildout #vanbuilding #vanconversion #vanframing #vanconversionproject by @diditforthevan

Floors are in and secured! I’m so behind on posting 🙈Also I cut my floors uniquely 😂 It may look sketchy, but all pieces and corners are fully supported. If I were to do it again I’d cut the floors in horizontal pieces all the way, no vertical 😉 #vanfloor #vanbuild #vanconversion #diyvanconversion by @diditforthevan
