This remodel project hits a little different. Over the years, we’ve remodeled countless homes and commercial buildings, but this community center means more to me than any project we’ve ever been a part of. I’ve spent thousands of hours inside these walls—not just as a contractor, but as a coach, mentor, and someone who truly cares about the kids who walk through these doors. People often ask why I dedicate so much of my time here. The answer has never been basketball. Basketball is simply the tool. The real purpose has always been helping shape young men and women into confident, respectful, hardworking people. It’s about teaching discipline, accountability, teamwork, and perseverance—lessons that carry far beyond the court. You never really know what a child is facing once they leave the gym. Sometimes all it takes is someone who believes in them, encourages them, and consistently shows up. That can make a bigger impact than most people realize. One of the greatest rewards has been watching kids grow into incredible young adults—earning college scholarships, playing at the next level, becoming coaches, and giving back to others. Now, having the opportunity to renovate the very building that has meant so much to so many is truly special. Every hour our team puts into this project is an investment in the next generation. This has always been bigger than basketball. It’s about building a community, investing in kids, and leaving something better than we found it. I’m grateful to be a small part of its story and excited to see the lives that will continue to be changed inside these walls for years to come. by @dillonpennell
