It deeply bothers me, to my core, that baby girl Na’Ziyah Harris’s remains still has not been located.

It bothers me that even though the sentencing has taken place, and the man responsible has been found guilty and sentenced, she’s still not here.

It bothers me that she was ______.

It really, really disturbs my soul.

And not just her. So many other young girls that I’ve worked with. So many other young girls that I know about. And so many others that I don’t know about that I know this is happening to right now.

As someone who used to work as a middle school counselor, I knew all the tea. I was the person girls and boys came to when they wanted to disclose things like this that were happening to them.

And it disturbed me then, and it disturbs me now.

So the only thing I know to do is use my heart and my passion to keep making sure this does not happen to another young girl, especially to our young girls in the city of Detroit.

I will continue to be a voice. I will continue to be a space. And I’m willing to sacrifice whatever it takes. My own safety. My own comfort.

Because every kid should know that if nobody else will believe you and report for you, I will.

And I pray that others will join this movement. Please share this with a boy or girl who needs to hear this and please report all “WEIRD” behavior that you see or hear about.

I was exhausted from driving out of state. After dropping my mom off at home, I was ready to head straight home myself.

But then I heard him from a mile away.

Just like when I was a child, I listened closely to see what street he was on and waited.

I didn’t have a father, and there weren’t many father figures in my community, but God didn’t leave me without.

The ice cream man showed up every day at the same time for over 25 years. For a child who experienced a lot of trauma, having that consistency was incredibly healing. Research shows that having a daily routine and set schedule can be very beneficial for a child recovering from trauma. He always greeted me with the same love and excitement everytime he saw me. As a child without much money, getting a free ice cream every single day really meant a lot—and it still does.

Oh, I can’t forget my Chaldean brothers who own the corner store near my mom’s house. They gave me my first job out of college when I couldn’t find work and treated me like a real little sister. I remember when my landlord in college wouldn’t refund my deposit, and I was in tears. The owner of the store said, “Give me his number.” He called and talked to the landlord for me. When the landlord still refused, he gave me the deposit back out of his own pocket. Even today, they still have my back when I need them.

My view of men isn’t shaped by the abandonment and rejection I experienced but by the men in my community who held me in their hearts and showed me pure love throughout my life.

Talk about grateful.

Do you remember your ice cream man? by @dinahmsw

After all I put her through as a rebellious teenager, @tweettheartist deserved the GRANDEST public apology. 😇🎤

Here’s my testimony: I have witnessed God’s power to restore broken relationships in my life.

Most people who see my mom and I on social media having fun, laughing and traveling together would never know how broken our relationship was.

Ya’ll we used to FIGHT, FIGHT. I was rebellious and stubborn. She was strong-willed and strict. This made a very tumultuous relationship.

But, I have witnessed and am still witnessing God’s power to restore and heal through prayer and my training in restorative practices (which has not only helped my professional career as a therapist but my personal life and relationships.)

I am forever grateful and want to spread this healing to others relationships which is why I have decided to reenter the therapy field. I’ll be sharing more about this soon:) #motherdaughter #healing #relationshipgoals #blacklove by @dinahmsw

I want to pause from inviting you to my book launch to share the bigger vision behind The Love That Heals. ❤️

This book isn’t just about ME helping people heal. It’s about US helping people restore their relationships with God, themselves, and others.

After the launch, I’m stepping into mentor mode!

PHASE 1: FACILITATOR TRAINING | DECEMBER 5

I’ll train 12 facilitators to lead trauma-informed conversations using the psychological and spiritual principles in my book.

We’ll cover foundational psychological concepts, reflective listening, facilitating meaningful conversations, and navigating group dynamics.

This is separate from my restorative practices training.

PHASE 2: THE LOVE THAT HEALS BOOK CHALLENGE | EARLY 2027

Each trained facilitator will lead their own book group! We’ll meet weekly for coaching and consultation as you guide others through the healing process.

My vision is to equip people who can take this message into their churches, communities, and circles of influence.

Only 12 spots available. 5 are already filled!

This is bigger than a book. It’s about equipping others to help people experience the love that heals. 🤎

I will share more about this at the book launch and you will have an opportunity to connect with the other book facilitators as

Comment LOVE to get the deets:) (You have to scroll all the way down on the book launch site to sign up for this training)🤎

#CapCut Lately, I’ve been looking at old pictures of myself, and it’s amazing to see your own evolution. Not just in how you look, but in who you’ve become, how you show up in the world, what you create, and what you choose to put into it.

A lot of people think The Love That Heals is my first book, but it’s actually my third self-published book. I published my first book back in 2014.

That book was a collection of prayers written by me and a group of women, both married and single. We used to come together for prayer challenges, and eventually, we turned those prayers into a book. It was a powerful season, and the prayers were meaningful.

But there was something about that season that never sat well with me. I could sense how easily marriage was becoming the priority, and in some ways, even an idol. And I knew I didn’t want to contribute to that. So, I completely stopped selling the book.

And I made a promise to God.

I promised Him that one day I would write a book that reflected His heart concerning love, dating, marriage, and relationships. A book that wouldn’t encourage people to idolize romantic love or marriage, but would help them develop healthy relationships rooted in His love.

Because God created romantic love, but He also created friendship, family, community, and so many other relationships through which we experience love, connection, and healing. And none of those relationships should take His place.

Twelve years later, here I am, finally fulfilling that promise to God. ❤️

On November 21st, I’m bringing that promise to life through The Love That Heals: A Love & Healing Experience + Book Launch.

We’re going to talk about love, marriage, friendship, relationships, healing, and other things we need to have honest conversations about.

I’m excited to finally share what God placed on my heart.

Comment LOVE if you’d like details about the book and an invitation to celebrate its release with me. ❤️

As a therapist, I help people navigate emotional wounds, trauma, psychological distress, and the patterns that affect how they think, feel, and relate to others. And I believe deeply in the value of therapy and the practical tools we have to support emotional and psychological healing.

But I also believe there is a dimension of healing that goes beyond what I can offer as a therapist.

I’m talking about soul healing.

The soul that God created. The soul that will exist beyond this earthly life. The deepest part of our being that I believe only its Creator can fully restore.

As a therapist, I can help you process your experiences, understand your emotions, challenge unhealthy beliefs, and develop healthier ways of living. But there are places within us that I believe only God can reach.

And that’s the heart behind my book, The Love That Heals: Restoring Your Relationship with God, Yourself, and Others.

This book brings together my clinical understanding of emotional and psychological healing with my faith and understanding of God’s restorative love.

You’ll find practical tools to help you navigate emotional wounds, understand yourself, and build healthier relationships. But you’ll also be invited to explore the spiritual dimension of healing, the restoration of the soul through the love of the God who created it.

Because I believe the God who created our souls is the One who can truly heal them.

And that’s the love I’m writing about. ❤️

Comment LOVE to learn more about the book and be among the first to get your copy of The Love That Heals!

The reality is that anxiety is a natural response of our nervous system to perceived threats, stress, or uncertainty. Anyone can experience it, but we don’t have to allow it to take control of our lives.

One thing I’ve learned about myself is that when I have too many “what if” thoughts, unanswered questions, uncertainties, or simply too much information sitting in my brain that I haven’t processed, I can start to feel anxious.

So I’ve learned to be intentional about managing it before it becomes overwhelming.

First and foremost, prayer is my foundation. The Bible gives us clear instructions about what to do when we’re anxious (Philippians 4:6-7).

But one of my favorite practical tools is my WHITEBOARD! 😂

Listen, that whiteboard is literally my best friend! It helps me get everything out of my head, organize my thoughts, identify priorities, and create a plan of action. Instead of carrying a million thoughts around in my brain, I can actually see what needs to be done and work through it one step at a time.

As I’ve been planning my book launch, I’ve had SO many moving pieces to manage. My entire launch is mapped out on my whiteboard, and I’ve been using it to guide my execution.

Sometimes managing anxiety isn’t about having fewer responsibilities. It’s about finding healthier ways to process and manage what we’re carrying mentally.

Prayer helps me surrender what I cannot control, and my whiteboard helps me organize what I can. ❤️

I don’t really have a sense of accomplishment, and that’s one of the things I’m working on personally. I’m learning how to recognize and celebrate my achievements because, whether I accomplish something big or small, I rarely feel much emotion about it. I don’t get overly excited. I usually just feel neutral, like I’m simply doing what I’m supposed to be doing.

Tonight, a friend called and asked if I was excited about my book launch. And while I can verbally say that I’m excited, I realized I don’t always actually feel the emotion of excitement.

I think part of that is because I’m usually so focused on the purpose of what I’m doing that I don’t always stop to recognize the significance of what I’ve accomplished.

But today I sat back and realized that THIS IS A BIG DEAL! I’m self-publishing the book I dreamed about, creating a healing experience around it, and hosting a major event again after I said I would NEVER do this again. 😂

And that last part means something to me. Because somewhere along the way, something in me had died. A part of me that loved bringing people together and creating meaningful experiences. And now, I’m watching that part of me come alive again.

And THAT is something worth celebrating. ❤️

I’ve been so focused on creating an experience where others can encounter God’s love, healing, and restoration that I almost overlooked the fact that God is doing something in me, too.

He loves me, too. And the fact that He’s allowing me to be part of what He’s doing is something I’m genuinely grateful for.

So November 21 isn’t just a book launch. It’s a celebration of what God is restoring, both in me and through me.

And I would absolutely love for you to come celebrate with me!

Comment LOVE and I’ll send you the ticket information.

I believe men and women need spaces where we can come together, have honest conversations, learn from one another, build healthy connections, and grow in our understanding of love. ❤️

Not just romantic love, but the kind of love that allows us to see one another, extend grace, build community, and experience healing.

That’s part of my heart behind The Love That Heals Experience.

On November 21, I’m bringing men and women together for an evening of therapeutic music, meaningful conversations, theology, psychology, and opportunities to connect and reflect.

Whether you’re single, dating, married, or simply seeking to grow, you have a space here.

It was people of all racial groups/ethinicities who really were genuinely concerned for me and jumped in to help a black woman keep her hair from getting wet. I love to see it❤️

And the owner @midtown.s.house treats me like royalty everytime I come in….and I feel like he genuinely cares about me and wants to feed me😆. Also, they have the best bbq sauce ever…go check them out and tell him Dinah sent you! by @dinahmsw

Last week , I made a post about how I wouldn’t be offended if my friends forgot my birthday or didn’t like my social media posts. And some people really did not understand that.

Someone even commented that if a person isn’t liking your posts, they’re not really your friend.

But THIS is why those things don’t bother me.

I have friends who cover me in prayer. Friends who have my back not just in the natural, but in the spiritual. Friends who are concerned about more than celebrating another year of my life. They’re concerned about my soul and where I’ll spend eternity.

These are ETERNAL friendships. ❤️

Today was one of those days when I could feel the weight of everything I’m carrying, especially with the book launch approaching. So I picked up the phone, called a few friends, and told them I was overwhelmed and needed prayer.

And this is how quickly they responded. 🥹

See, when you understand what real love looks like, you stop getting offended by things that have very little eternal significance. You stop measuring friendship by birthdays, likes, and social media engagement.

Because when genuine love is present, there’s no room for keeping score, entitlement, or constantly looking for reasons to be offended.

For me, prayer is love. Covering someone spiritually is love. Caring about someone’s soul is love.

And THIS is part of what I want people to experience at The Love That Heals book launch. Not just an event, but an opportunity to experience genuine love, meaningful conversations, prayer, and community with people who understand the importance of caring for one another beyond the surface.

Because healing doesn’t just happen in isolation. Sometimes God uses the love of others to help carry us through.

I’m so grateful for the friends God has placed in my life. ❤️

If you’ve been longing for this kind of love and community, I’d love for you to join us at The Love That Heals.

Comment LOVE and I’ll send you the details. ❤️
