Behind every safe surgery is an anaesthetist. Happy World Anaesthesia Day ๐Ÿฉบ ๐Ÿ’‰๐Ÿฉต Last slide shows how I feel every time Iโ€™m at work ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿฉบ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ Love these caricature cartoons but why did it make me look so realistic? Doctor by profession, human by priority. โค๏ธ READ THAT AGAIN. One of the biggest lessons Iโ€™ve had to learn is consistently pulling myself away from over-identifying with my career. โœจ Medicine can easily absorb you, and before you know it, you start putting yourself second without even noticing. ๐Ÿซ  So Iโ€™ve had to become intentional about how I live outside of work. Some of my non-negotiables include: โ€ข Maximum 4 hours of sleep post-call before I properly reset and live โ€ข Scheduling something to look forward to on off days and during annual leave โ€ข Proper maintenance/rest days after call โ€ข Staying grounded around non-medics and real-life spaces outside hospital culture โ€ข Regular mental health check-ins What are your non-negotiables when it comes to work and life balance? #womeninmedicine #worklifebalance #doctorsofinstagram #doctorlife #travellingdoctor by @dineobee

Spring calledโ€ฆ she wanted her Stanley dressed too ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿงบโœจ Took my girl to the @yuppiechef x @stanley1913_southafrica In-Store Picnic for a little spring makeover, then obviously had to take her out to enjoy the sunshine. ๐ŸŒท You can customise yours too at Yuppiechef Menlyn Park or V&A Waterfront between the 22nd of September to the 12th of October. ๐Ÿค #Stanley1913InStorePicnic #Stanley1913InStorePicnic #stanley #spring by @dineobee
