POSTS STORIES REELS

What does it actually look like to build a life in Detroit?

We’re two entrepreneurs who recently bought a loft in Milwaukee Junction, and this is what a random Tuesday looked like: coffee at @milwaukeecaffe, work from the loft, a walk down the Dequindre Cut, local favorites like @franksdeliandgrill and @yumvillage, and a whole lot of reasons we’re glad we made the move.

A few weeks in, and we’re learning that it’s the everyday moments that make a city feel like home.

Detroit, on purpose ❤️🏙️

Today I was at the gym listening to the @emmagrede podcast (duh), with a to-do list approximately 47 miles long, a trip to Paris in ONE WEEK, and a million other things I should probably be doing 😂

And somewhere in the middle of my workout, I had this realization…

I’ve spent YEARS trying to make my social media look perfect when in reality, there is SO much more to me than what I’ve been sharing.

I’m a wedding + boudoir photographer, educator, content creator, business owner, Detroit girl, travel lover, and someone who’s incredibly passionate about empowering women.

And you know what? These are all things I LOVE about myself. I love that I have a million interests, that I’m constantly creating something, that I have big dreams, and that my life doesn’t fit into one perfectly curated little box.

So why have I been trying to make my content fit into one?!

I want to post more from the heart and share things because they make me happy, because I’m passionate about them, or because I have a story worth telling.

So here’s to more of THAT. More personality, more random thoughts, more behind-the-scenes chaos, more things I’m passionate about, and a whole lot less worrying about whether something matches my feed.

The pretty wedding photos aren’t going anywhere. But you’re about to get a whole lot more of the girl behind the camera too 😮‍💨🤭🫶✨ by @dinksindetroit

Saturday afternoon at She Sourced Detroit 🥹💼

Walked away with a delicious coffee from @cafecitoalvarez, the CUTEST new ring, froyo from @avragreekfrozenyogurt, and a whole lot of regret over the vintage Dooney & Bourke bag I didn’t buy from @stylestarvintage 🫠

Consider this your reminder to get out and support the cool things happening in Detroit!!!
