We’ve been using 3D Gaussian splats in our workflow for some time now, and we wanted to explore more about what goes into creating 4DGS and how to make it production-ready.

We’re taking you behind the scenes of how we use our 3DGS environments and 4DGS technology from @ainatech.ai to capture stunt performances for visual effects.

Full video coming soon.

What happens when you take a complete virtual production workflow out of the studio and into the Las Vegas desert?

For NAB 2026, District Cinema partnered with Puget Systems, Beeble, and The VPX Lab to showcase a fully mobile Gaussian Splat-based previs workflow, combining markerless motion capture, real-time Gaussian Splats in Unreal Engine, and virtual cameras for live shot design.

The challenge? Making it all run reliably in a live outdoor environment with massive amounts of data moving through the system in real time.

With Puget Systems mobile workstations and hands-on technical support, we were able to bring the workflow to life in the 95°F Nevada desert heat.

Excited to share a great moment with our friends at XGRIDS and District Cinema ! 🎬

We recently got hands-on with LiDAR scanning on set, and it was incredible to see the possibilities unfold. Loved diving into conversations about how LiDAR, combined with high-resolution photo and video capture, is pushing the boundaries of film and TV with photo-real 3D scans, gaussian splats, and more. The technology is transforming how we capture, visualize, and create.

Here’s to innovation, collaboration, and the exciting road ahead! 🚀
