Amazing experience wearing an old Russian marine deep sea diving suit at an event in Graz. 🇦🇹🇷🇺 ⠀
With each shoe weighing 15kg, 20kg the helmet and an additional 32 in lead, it is very exhausting to wear on land. The daredevils diving in those suits were extraordinary pioneers. 🏋🏻‍♂️

The humphead parrotfish🦜🐠owes its name to the prominent bulbous forehead, which develops in adults. They use these big foreheads in head-butting contests for a chance to mate or control the school.💥 It is their most distinctive feature.
⠀
#didyouknow that humphead parrotfish have an interesting way to sleep. They create a mucus-like bubble around themselves.🦠
⠀

⠀

Nudibranchs🐌,kind of like a sea slug, come in virtually every color and combination of colors and are extremely beautiful🌈.There are over 3,000 species of nudibranchs, from very shallow to depths of 2,500m. The two ‘horns’ of a nudibranch, on top of the head are chemical receptors that allow the nudibranch to find food and mates.💙

⠀

Coral reefs around the world are vanishing at an unprecedented rate.😢Over 1 billion people rely on coral reefs as a source of food.🦀 We lost half of the global coral reefs in the last 30 years. Due to climate change, the ocean temperatures are increasing. This causes the seawater to become acidic, known as ocean acidification, which leads to coral bleaching. ⠀
⠀
@netflix documentary @chasingcoral highlights the dramatic changes that become visible all around the world, from Thailand, the U.S., Philippines, to the Great Barrier Reef. Sadly, in the year 2016, 22% of the corals in the northern part of the Great Barrier Reef have died. We encourage you to watch the documentary.🎬

#didyouknow that sometimes, grouper fish invite morays to a joint hunting trip? With the moray wriggling through the craggy reefs and the grouper hovering overhead, smaller animals have nowhere to hide - and at least one predator gets a meal.🐟
