VINTAGE SCUBA 🤿
⠀
For a few years in the mid-1950s, Dräger produced the Dräger Delfin II (their first scuba regulator - it was marketed as the Barakuda (now IAC) in the USA): this was a single stage single hose "pendulum"" regulator with only one ambient pressure (corrugated) hose: the exhaled air went back down the hose to the cylinder mounted regulator and was released to outside through a one-way valve inside the casing. The end of the flexible tube was connected to the mouthpiece by a short quarter-circle of hard tube. The two way hose would have caused dead space similar to a rebreather with a pendulum system.

🐬OCEAN THROUGH TIME ⏳
⠀
At 15 feet long, and with a lower jaw made of a spiral of serrated teeth, the Helicoprion seems like a cross between a shark and a chainsaw. Even though scholars aren’t entirely sure about the structure of this unique-looking shark, it’s generally accepted that when it caught and consumed prey, the jaw closed and, unbelievably, the teeth rotated backwards in a sawing motion. Fossils of Helicoprion have been found worldwide, as the genus is known from Russia, Western Australia, China, Kazakhstan, Japan, Laos, Norway, Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

BEST PLACES FOR DIVING PART 28🐬
A unique diving experience can be found in La Paz, Mexico. If you are looking for cuteness overload, go snorkeling or diving with sea lions. They are incredibly playful and curious like a puppy. In Mexico you can dive with them in warm water, no dry suit needed. One of the most important things to consider, is that sea lions are in shallow water most of the time - around the surface. You do not need to go diving with them, snorkeling is fine. If you prefer to take pictures or video (like me) it is better to escape the waves by SCUBA diving just a meter or two below the surface.

In the 1860s, Phillips developed one of the world's first-ever, fully-enclosed atmospheric diving suits. Lodner D. Phillips developed a suit that featured articulated joints, a viewing chamber, and even a hand-cranked propeller for movement. While there is documentary evidence of the suit's existence, it is unclear if one was ever made for public use.
In the 1880s, however, the Carmagnolle Brothers, getting their inspiration from Phillip's design, developed their own articulated atmospheric diving suit.

🐬OCEAN THROUGH TIME⏳
One of the famous ocean most biggest predators was Livyatan Melvillei. Livyatan was a hyper-carnivorous whale that ate other whales and had the largest teeth of any animal, aside from elephants’ tusks. Though it was no bigger than today’s cachalots, who also rely on suction to carry prey into its open mouth, Livyatan’s enormous teeth grabbed prey with huge chomps, aided by its massive 10-foot-long skull that helped to capture and trap food inside. And with its echolocating abilities, other marine life didn’t stand much chance, even in the murkiest depths of the ocean.
