Pleasure doing mehndi for this lovely bride.
Fab job on the guests by @hennabydalina + @komalmendi

I'm still in love with her fun choice of outfit! Don't you think that mehndi events are the one least full of religious rituals or traditions meaning you could have alot of creative freedom with the whole event including the outfit!

🔱 Feminine doesn't need to always mean flowly florals & ditsy dots.

🌙 The dark stain mimics traditional hand poked tattoos & just makes it pop, pairing perfectly with mirrored or oxidised hand jewellery for garba 'fits.

✨️ Hopping on the norta trend - but with jagua!

What is Jagua?
🥝 Natural fruit ink from South America
🥝 Navy / black stain stays for one week
🥝 Not 'black' henna but a great safe alternative

PS: That is a saathiyo, a symbol of wellbeing and auspiciousness that has existed long before any variations with ulterior meaning.

Creativity, tradition, and a chance to connect through the art of henna.

Join Divya Madhani, a London-based British Indian henna artist at THE SELF-CARE CIRCUIT, a FREE event by @CoppaFeel × @studio404.world for a mindful henna experience.

For Divya, henna is more than a beautiful design. It’s a craft passed down through generations, rooted in traditions of blessing, celebration and care. Through her work, she brings together the history and heritage of henna with contemporary expression, sharing a practice that has connected families and communities for centuries.

And that’s what PASSING UP RITUALS by Coppafeel! And Studio 404 is all about. Celebrating the traditions we’ve inherited, while creating space for new conversations about looking after ourselves and the people we love.

Come along, enjoy the art of henna, meet new people and take a little piece of this beautiful tradition home with you.

Happy Janmashtami! 🦚🪷

This murti (from the manor) was kindly gifted to me by a lovely client, Ravi, upon delivering a bespoke art canvas commission to her wellness studio and it inspired me to create this drawing with a henna cone.

Using mehndi paste on paper is quite different to working on skin or a moving breathing canvas. It allows for more details and an unrestricted blank space to work on.

Swipe to see Soho Janmastami darshan 🌸
