oldfitztheatre Our Act 3 Readings Program continues next week with a brand-new take on a story you thought you knew... HAMLET’S LILLEBROR by Diane Keogh Thursday 24 September, 1pm How strong are the bonds of brotherly love? Will they save you, or bury you? Hamlet and his younger brother, Frederik, enjoy a happy childhood together in the Danish Royal Court. But as they grow older, the brothers begin to clash - violently. When Frederik discovers a terrible secret, he is forced to make a series of choices about his life, his family and his future. Choices that could change the fate of Denmark forever. Hamlet’s Lillebror steps inside the world of Shakespeare’s tragedy from a new perspective, asking whether intense familial love - grounded in loyalty, affection, patience and duty - can ultimately lead us to make dangerous choices. 📅 Thursday 24 September, 1pm ⏱ 30 minutes + Q&A 🎟 https://purchase.oldfitztheatre.com.au/EventAvailability?EventId=3801 👤 Writer & Narrator: Diane Keogh | Performers: Shekhar Raychaudhury, Finn Middleton, Ken Welsh, Petrell Huang, Gary Patni & Gap Cao by @dkeogh3

I have a small role in this play as the Narrator (my first play). Tickets https://www.trybooking.com/events/landing/1626055 IN CELEBRATION of the Birth Centenary of Revered Pravrajika Ajayaprana Mataji, the Vedanta Society of NSW presents a special program of live music, dance and a play. Featuring performances by Avijit Sarkar’s “Gunjan Choir Group”, dances by Geetanjali School of Dance & Performing Arts, a dance performance by Mythily Baker and a Sarod Recital by Tanim Hayat Khan. The play, ‘Universal Heart’, highlights how Holy Mother, Sri Sarada Devi, a simple village woman, inspired three powerful Western Women and others - followers of Swami Vivekananda - to expand the educational and occupational opportunities for women in India, also culminating in the formation of the Sri Sarada Math Order of Nuns, the first Order of its type entirely run by women. Rev. Ajayaprana established the Order’s first foreign Centre in Sydney in 1982. It's a play whose messages resonate today, addressing the universal and timeless issues of seeking balance and fulfilment in our lives. Please join us for this special early evening event, which includes light dinner packets.
