Learning beyond the lens! 🎬

Our BA (Hons) Advertising & Marketing Communications students took their learning beyond the classroom today with a hands-on Videography and Film Production Workshop at @melrish!

From pre-production planning and on-set filming to post-production editing, students gained firsthand insight into the different stages of filmmaking and what it takes to bring a creative vision to life. The experience offered a valuable opportunity to connect classroom knowledge with real-world industry practices, highlighting the creativity, technical skills, and teamwork that go into every production.

Beyond the classroom and closer to the industry. That’s the DMU Dubai experience.

Our Computing students at De Montfort University Dubai stepped into the world of Virtual Reality (VR) to experience realistic interview scenarios, practise their communication skills and even switch roles to become the interviewer!

The session offered a fresh perspective on body language, eye contact and the importance of non-verbal communication, helping students build confidence and prepare for real-world professional experiences.

A big thank you to Dr Syed Ali Shah and Dr Masoumeh Tajvidi for making this engaging learning experience possible!

Dear future me… ✉️

Our third years have a message waiting for them at the finish line! Each student wrote a note to their future self and sealed it inside a 3D-printed time capsule, ready to be opened at their graduation show.

What do you think they wrote to their future selves?
