As we continue to navigate the tragedy one of our students is facing, we want to also take a moment to recognize the conclusion of our 2026 marching band season this past weekend and celebrate the extraordinary accomplishments of our students. This season the Dobyns-Bennett Band took on three Bands of America Regionals. We are incredibly proud to celebrate being named a Bands of America Regional Champion at all three of the our 2026 Bands of America Regionals we attended: Bands of America Chattanooga Bands of America Ballad Health East Tennessee Regional Bands of America Middle Tennessee While these championships are an incredible achievement, the true measure of this season goes far beyond trophies, scores, or placements. We are most proud of the dedication, resilience, character, and love these students have shown for their program and, especially in recent days, for one another. We again want to express our deepest gratitude for the tremendous outpouring of love and support our band family has received. Band programs, educators, students, alumni, friends, and supporters from across the nation have reached out to share their condolences and surround one of our students and our entire program with compassion during an unimaginably difficult time. Every message, gesture, and expression of support has meant more than we can adequately put into words. The marching band season may have come to an end, but what these students accomplished together, and the way this community has rallied around them when it mattered most, will stay with us for years to come. We could not be prouder of our students, staff, and team of parent volunteers. by @dobynsbennett_band
In the wake of the heartbreaking tragedy involving the Elmore family, we have been deeply moved by the overwhelming outpouring of love, compassion, and support from our community and band programs across the nation. So many have reached out asking how they can help, and we are incredibly grateful for the kindness and generosity shown to the Elmore family during this unimaginable time. In response, a donation fund has been established to provide both immediate assistance and lasting support while honoring the lives and legacy of the Elmore family. Contributions to this fund will help support: -Educational expenses and tuition assistance for the Elmores’ daughter, who is currently a senior at Dobyns-Bennett High School. -Legal and funeral expenses associated with this tragedy. -An annual scholarship established in the Elmore family name to honor their memory and make a lasting difference in the lives of future students. -A memorial garden dedicated to celebrating and remembering the Elmore family and the impact they have made on our community. For those who wish to contribute, donations can be made through the link in our bio or checks made out to the Dobyns-Bennett Band Boosters can be mailed to PO Box 7265 Kingsport, TN 37664 While no amount of support can replace what has been lost, we hope that together we can help provide comfort, stability, and a lasting tribute to the Elmore family. To everyone who has offered prayers, shared messages of encouragement, or asked how they can help, thank you. We ask that you continue to keep the Elmore family and all those affected by this tragedy in your thoughts while respecting their privacy as they navigate the difficult days ahead. by @dobynsbennett_band

THANK YOU, COMMUNITY PARTNERS & AUCTION SPONSORS! As we reflect on an incredible Centennial Homecoming weekend celebrating 100 years of the Dobyns-Bennett Band, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the businesses, organizations, families, and individuals who helped make our fundraising celebration possible. The support of our community has been woven into the history of this band for generations. Our Community Partners and Silent Auction Sponsors continued that tradition through their generosity, donating items, experiences, resources, and support that helped make this celebration so successful. While this weekend gave us the opportunity to look back on a century of unforgettable memories, traditions, and accomplishments, it was also about looking forward. Every contribution helps us continue providing extraordinary opportunities and experiences for generations of Dobyns-Bennett Band students to come. To each of our sponsors and community partners: thank you for believing in our students, supporting our program, and helping us begin the next 100 years. We are incredibly fortunate to be part of a community that continues to show up for the Dobyns-Bennett Band. by @dobynsbennett_band
