AI in filmmaking is raising a lot of moral, legal and practical questions. Who owns an AI-generated image? Where does the training data come from? What rules and guidelines are broadcasters developing for the use of AI? 🔍 👉🏼 Join the series of open lectures taking place in Kutná Hora on November 23 to find the answers. Representatives from key players in the European documentary market will discuss changes in the financing, acquisition, and distribution of documentary films, while programmers from the Berlinale, Thessaloniki, Giornate degli Autori, One World, and Ji.hlava festivals will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the festival selection process and the opportunities festivals offer filmmakers. 📅 Monday, November 23 📍 GASK, Kutná Hora ⏰ application deadline: November 11 🔗 link to application in bio #dokconnect #filmmaking #openlecture #documentary by @dok.incubator

We have something brand new for editors! 🎉✂️ During the November workshop session, we are running a hands-on mini-workshop focused on building your own AI editing assistant that knows your footage and gives you more space for creative decisions. 🤩 👉🏼 From syncing audio and managing complex data to generating visual structure maps based on a creative brief, you’ll see what’s possible in a real edit suite today. 👉🏼 You’ll explore how to communicate with AI, give it the right context, and decide when to delegate and when to keep full control. You’ll leave with a clear understanding of how to build your own assistant and concrete steps to get started. Who is it for: primarily editors, no technical background required Capacity: limited to 14 participants 🤝🏼 Led by Hana Dvořáčková 📍 GASK, Kutná Hora 📅 Nov 20, 2–6 pm 🔗 link to dok.connect program in bio #kurnahora #editing #workshop #filmmakers #editor by @dok.incubator

dok.incubator through a participant’s lens! 📷 Thank you, @zdenek_chaloupka_photo, not only for bringing us the story of @generationnika_ —a fierce young generation from Kharkiv and Kherson—but also for sharing your perspective on the dok.incubator experience. Check out the gallery to see the workshop through his eyes! 🎬✨ by @dok.incubator
🟧 The final day of dok.incubator was dedicated to showing the incredible journey our selected projects took during this intense week of editing, mentoring, rethinking, evaluating… and editing again! 🟢 We can’t wait to watch these projects evolve even more, and we look forward to helping them build effective distribution and marketing strategies alongside top industry experts at our second workshop in Kutná Hora. See you all there! 🎬✨ 📸 Photo: Andrea Laková by @dok.incubator
Our session in Banská Štiavnica was the first to run with AI note-taking across every feedback round. 🟧 Feedback is deep and fast-moving at dok.incubator — tutors, observers, fellow teams, all in one room. So we’re piloting a custom AI integration to transcribe it live. Nothing gets lost now: filmmakers can instantly revisit their notes, generate mind maps, and map out clear next steps for their film, even after the workshop. What doesn’t change are the creative decisions. Those always stay with the teams — and each team’s notes stay their own. 🙌 by @dok.incubator
