We’re entering “silk press season” full force here in Houston, & I PROMISE your curly cut can still be worn straight.

Some things to know:

1. Your curly cut will not translate to a blunt cut. If that’s what you want you WILL need a straight cut

2. A silk press/blowout will always look & feel better and last longer with ANY cut service. If your last curly cut was 2 years ago babe that’s why you need 4 inches off.

3. If your last cut was over 3-6 months prior a ✨light✨ dusting on straight hair is okay.

4. Curly cuts use layering techniques to create shape. In your straight state you will still have these layers- just longer. EMBRACE THEM. Opt for a curl, wave, bend, or blowout look to make the most of your cut.

5. Not all textures will have the same finish. The most important way to keep healthy curls without heat damage is to know your hairs limit.

6. Hair is meant to be enjoyed! 💕 Book the silk press girl. Occasionally is fine just don’t over do it. by @dolledbydotti

✨ Hey Girl ✨

It’s that time of the year. Autumn is here & with her comes the rich coppers, honeys, reds, browns, plums etc. I love them all. With that being said, when searching for your inspo photos, let’s keep in mind 💡LIGHTING 💡That goes for any color but especially these very rich warmer undertones. The photo on the left was shot directly on my iPhone w/ salon lighting in front of indirect sunlight through a window indoors. The photo on the right also on my iPhone outside during an overcast. Neither were edited or filtered. Same exact color. But different lighting. Clients keep that in mind when looking for inspo, stylists do your due diligence to consult thoroughly & explain the nuances of lighting in your clients inspo. These tones are bound to look more rich or vibrant when the light hits them vs on a cloudy day. by @dolledbydotti

If you’re thinking about it…. DO IT. The pixie is a vibe. You can enjoy your hair at any length. This is your sign
