A super few days for this young lady. Huge strides made in your game, great ‘everyball’ mentality throughout the event and just ran out of time today before you solved the problem! Plenty of fuel to take back to the practice courts….on we go 🎾🎾🎾

Congrats to the winner and her team - first to the practice courts each day working to a clear and focused agenda - class act and duly noted 👌 #FFEB #everyball #ltacompetitions #juniortennis

A super first half term.
Finishing off yesterday’s Athletic Development session with some ‘Run the Gauntlet’, shown here! Player has to get from one end to the other while other players try to ‘block’ them by only moving sideways along their line. 🙌🏼

Reaction drill in squad this evening.
As I say in the clip, group of 3, person in the middle leads, the other 2 react by moving to the opposite side and try to beat them back in.
Can keep rotating positions, or mix up groups etc
Good way to keep a large group all moving.

What a fantastic experience to watch my first live NFL Game. Absolutely loved it!
A shame Washington couldn’t get the W but it’s always amazing to see top level sport live.
Not many pics/vids as I was too engrossed!

So so appreciative and massive thanks to @tulsv

(The only downside was the insane bag drop/pick up queue!! They need to sort that out!)

Taking the players through a couple of strength/mobility flows in a recent U10 Athletic Development session. Looking to introduce some things to the players at an early age and develop some good habits.
As part of the new @everyballtennis U10 Enhanced Programme, we are providing specific 30 minute Athletic Development sessions for the players. Building the foundations.

Still thinking about this phenomenal concert last week.

It was a treat to host @firstaidkitband with the @goteborgssymfoniker, conductor Erik Arvinder and organist @hugh.rowlands for the past two evenings ✨

“This is surreal,” they exclaimed while performing their breakthrough album Stay Gold in full, 12 years its release and their last visit to the Hall.

The second half of the show saw the Swedish folk duo perform fan favourites, old and new, alongside covers of Paul Simon and Dolly Parton.

And for one of these fan favourites, Nothing Has To Be True, they were joined by organist @hugh.rowlands for a stunning take on the 2018 track. by @domjking

A recent focus for @katiemalliff has been on building a solid conditioning base. So here is a little snapshot of a recent session.
Inspired by a recent presentation from @dr_duncan_french at the @uksca Conference, the session started with some OMEM max inhalation efforts on the Air Bike. A tough way to start. Then into a Modified 300 session with multiple sets of the exercises you see here, essentially for time. Then finishing off with some max exhalation sled pushes.

Nothing but a good time!

Couple of things from @everyballtennis Squad yesterday evening.

- Hopping Tag.
Love this for some calf/ankle plyo work in a slightly chaotic environment. Players have got to stay within their half-court and keep hopping, even if not moving. Fun, engaging and can be used at any time of the session.

- Long X Movement Drill
A planned (known) movement pattern to work on some transitions between movements and awareness of body position. Can look to increase the intensity and/or do it as a race to see if movement quality is maintained.

Has been a super start to the new term and all part of the process to develop Everyballers into the best movers in the world/universe/galaxy (depending on which players you ask!)

It’s that time again.

The @uksca Annual Conference is always a fun event.
An added bonus is that it has been held on the University of Nottingham Campus for the last few years, so I get to have a nostalgic wander around my old university.
And I never get tired of doing so!
This year felt even more poignant.

Firstly, it has been announced that The University of Nottingham is cutting modern languages from their course offering. As a modern languages graduate(this often surprises people!), this saddens me. I know times change but once they’re gone, they’re not coming back, so I’m sad at the potential job losses and the knowledge that will no longer be within the University, and also that there will no longer be students that can have the same experience that I did.

Also, in the process of catching up with friends at the Conference, many I sadly don’t see from one year to the next, and while walking around Campus, I reflected on how much has personally happened in a year. And taking a moment to sit, in a familiar, happy place, enabled me to stop for a moment and take a breath or two.
As I thought about how things happen to/for us, and seasons of life change, I would be lying if I said I hadn’t wanted, for a moment, to be back as the carefree student again.
I know there seems to be a fondness for 90s nostalgia currently…but perhaps for good reason. It was a time! And @uniofnottingham and the friends I met there, were such a big part of it.

Until next year 👋🏻
