How I went from taking all day on one client to taking 2 or more a day:

1. Limit distractions! Meaning put down that phone, and turn the music up. What really helped me go faster is limiting the amount of distractions around me like my phone or the tv. Stop watching tv and start working!!

2. Find your routine. You won’t get fast in a day, you have to be consistent and find what works for you. I have a certain routine when I work, so as soon as my client gets in the chair I know what I’m doing and when I’m gonna do it without wasting time.

3. Time yourself. I always have somewhere where I can see the time so that I know how fast or how slow I’m going. I do this so that I know if I’m going too slow on one braid or one row, and try to go faster next time. I strive to take 2-3 minutes on one braid at most. This really helped me improve my time management!

4. Listen to music. I find that blasting my music really helps me eliminate distractions and focus on what I have to do. I also feel like when I listen to fast paced music I go faster.😅 It also helps me stay energized and in a good mood while working.

5. Eat before hand. I personally don’t advise eating in the middle of work, it wastes time and it also can make you tired. Eat before your client comes so you have enough energy to get through the day!!
