We at the club are deeply saddened to hear of Ciara Mageean’s passing. She was one of Ireland’s true athletics greats, a fantastic person, athlete and ambassador for the sport. Ciara was twice female winner and runner up in our annual Jingle bells 5k and even did a Q&A at one stage with our athletes. Our heartfelt condolences to Ciara’s husband, family, loved ones, may she rest in peace by @donore_harriers

DUBLIN MARATHON, inc. National Championships (25.10.2026) A great day for the club at the Dublin marathon for the club with almost 60 taking to the start line on a very windy day with testing conditions. Runners from across the training groups were represented , some making their marathon debuts. Despite the sometimes challenging conditions there were several PBs. First Donore man home was Kane Collins just 3 seconds outside his PB 8th Irishman and 15th overall. Wayne Waldron was next with a new PB. Emily Cunniffe was first Donore female home in a personal best. National & Dublin championship results to follow but there are definitely some age category and team honours on the way. Great work too from Gavin Curtin on pacing the elite women. Unfortunately some runners were forced to retire mid-race , wishing them a speedy recovery There was great support as always at the Chapelizod water station by a band of hardworking Donore volunteers coordinated by David Campbell. Club members were also stewarding at Kilmainham and at the race start and finish areas. Thanks to a range of members for the photos and Gerry for results compilation. Well done to all who ran, volunteered and supported! Full list of donore finishers in on our Facebook page by @donore_harriers
Dublin Marathon SUB 3✅️ buzzing with that chip time (2:58.52) 💙 Blood, sweat and tears. Today was a battle from start to finish. The wind was relentless, was in the trenches at 32km but hung on in, legs were telling me to slow down. But you don't put in months of hard training to give up when it gets hard. Dug deep, dug in, and kept fighting all the way to the finish line. Another sub-3 marathon in the bag, this is now my 5th consecutive SUB 3 Marathon and more to come. Massive thanks to everyone who came out to support❤️ and to everyone who ran today, now time to celebrate🥳 #dublinmarathon #sub3marathon #runner by @donore_harriers
