POSTS STORIES REELS

After much deliberation and few too many cups of coffee, I’ve decided to join the masses by starting a YouTube Channel!

As an artist, I’ve always found immense joy in creating and sharing my work with the world. But let’s face it, in today’s digital age, it’s not just about paint on canvas or sketches in a notebook. It’s about bringing those creations to life, sharing the process, the struggles, and the triumphs with a wider audience.

I would appreciate the support, please subscribe if you would like to follow my journey. A like 👍🏻 is welcome and leave a comment, I love hearing your thoughts.

Frigid Warmth—This series explores the tension between opposing forces, capturing light and shadow, chaos and stillness, beauty and desolation. Layers of texture, movement, and contrast reveal the paradox of stillness and energy—an interplay of fragility and power.

Swipe through to experience the process.

I Would love to hear your thoughts—what do you feel when you see these pieces?

Embrace the turmoil. Even the darkest seasons have something valuable to say.

Parts of the passage.
1500mm x 1200mm

The Passage captures the raw emotion of the landscape, where starkness and subtle shifts in tone come together to create something both intimate and compelling. It’s a reflection on the feeling of a place, rather than simply what we see. by @donovan.stanford.art

I can feel the seasons changing here in England. The days are getting shorter, the evenings darker and the light that has that different quality that comes with winter approaching.

My favourite time to paint!

A bit of painting, scraping back, and adding more.

Fading Light
Part of my Frigid Warmth series.

I’m always trying to paint landscapes that are difficult to define, when the light moves and familiar forms begin to disappear. For me it’s always about the uncertainty.

Sometimes, a painting takes you to a place before you even ask for directions.

Working some thick texture paste and gesso into the surface to build up raised areas, valleys and troughs, creating energy and movement across the canvas.

Working with a limited colour palette today. Trying out some new products ahead of an upcoming workshop. experimenting with materials to see what they can do.

Between Memory and Mist
1000mmx1000mm (original canvas)
Mixed media

Between Memory and Mist explores the relationship between natural phenomena and human experience, using mist as a metaphor for grief, memory and transition, where landscape becomes suspended between presence and absence.

Varnishing After Rain with what must be the world’s worst paintbrush 😂 But it’s doing the job!

Getting this one ready for the exhibition, then it’s on to making the frame. Nearly there!
