Update:

With so much happening every day, it’s sometimes difficult to focus on the good. But today, I want to take a moment to do just that. Since the fires at the beginning of the month, the outpouring of support and love has been incredible. I want to sincerely thank each and every one of you who has, in some way, contributed to making my family and me feel comforted, supported, and loved. So many people from across the country have reached out and helped in any way they could.

Thank you for everything you’ve done—whether it was a donation, sharing our story, offering words of comfort, providing resources, or simply showing kindness. Your generosity and support mean the world to us.

So far, thanks to your incredible generosity, we’ve raised almost $12K of our $13K goal—honestly, it blows my mind. Setting up and sharing the GoFundMe was not an easy decision, especially knowing how many others were affected by these fires. But the support we've received has been truly humbling.

I also want to acknowledge the various city and government agencies that quickly stepped up to manage the crisis in real-time: The Red Cross, FEMA, the cities of Altadena, Pasadena, and Los Angeles; firefighters from different counties and states (including the incredible team from Kuna Fire District Station 1 in Idaho), The Mexican and Canadian Firefighters who not only braved the fires in our behalf, but also the bigotry lobbied at their countries; The California Fire Fund, and all the volunteers from near and far, and the inmates in the California Fire Camps that also risk their lives to help battle fires while serving time. A special thank you to Kaiser and AltaMed, and to every single person who has been on the ground making a difference. The overwhelming kindness and dedication have left us filled with gratitude.

From the bottom of our hearts, my family and I humbly thank you. ❤️ by @donpazito

My first Dia de Los Muertos altar. It was cathartic and a bit bittersweet, but it made me feel grateful for having been able to spend time with family, chosen family, friends, furry friends and past loves. I think it'll be a yearly tradition for me now. by @donpazito
