@tambellini_and_co ⭐️ The Tambellini name has been part of Pittsburgh’s restaurant scene for nearly 100 years, dating all the way back to 1935 on East Carson Street. At one point, there were seven different Tambellini restaurants around the city. Now, Michael and Trista Tambellini are carrying that name into a completely new chapter in Brookline. This isn’t the fine dining Pittsburgh might associate with the Tambellini name. It’s a small Italian sandwich shop built around big portions, old family traditions, and years of experience in kitchens and restaurants across the region. I really love what they’ve done here. It feels like they’re respecting the history without trying to recreate something from 50 years ago. And the food absolutely delivered. The chicken Caesar was my favorite, that dressing is out of this world, and the chicken parm was right there with it. Their hoagie rolls come from Mediterra, the potato chips are made in house, and I highly recommend grabbing one of the Italian soda floats while you’re there. I’m excited to see what’s next for these two. Brookline got a good one. 📍 Tambellini & Co. 1011 Brookline Blvd Pittsburgh, PA 15226 Italian Sandwiches in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania • Restaurants in Brookline Pittsburgh • Chicken Parm in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania • Italian Food in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania #pittsburghfood #pghfood #pittsburgh #pittsburghrestaurants #eatlocalpgh by @dope.eats.pgh
@ranuccispgh ⭐️ I’d been hearing good things about Ranucci’s for a while, so I finally made it over this week to see what it was all about. One thing I always enjoy when I visit a place for the first time is getting to spend a little time talking with the people behind it. Chef Rob has done a great job carrying on the restaurant’s Italian roots while putting his own stamp on the menu. You can tell there’s a lot of pride behind what comes out of the kitchen, and I think that shows in the food. The bone-in veal chop was the standout for me, especially when they finish it tableside with a blanket of melted cheese. The stuffed peppers had a big kick, and there were plenty of other dishes I’d happily go back for. Between the homemade pastas, burrata, and classic Italian favorites, there’s a lot to explore here. Their new patio is a great addition too. It was already filling up by the time we arrived, which is always a good sign, so we ended up grabbing a table inside instead. Whether you’re planning a date night, dinner with family, or just looking for a new Italian spot to try, Ranucci’s is definitely worth checking out. Thanks again to Chef Rob and everyone at Ranucci’s for the hospitality. Looking forward to making it back. 📍 Ranucci’s Trattoria 2018 Main St Sharpsburg, PA 15215 Italian Restaurant in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania • Date Night in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania #pittsburgh #pittsburghfood #pghfood #italianfood #eatlocalpgh by @dope.eats.pgh
Hi I’m Mike from Dope Eats…Here are some of my favorites from the last few months. 📸 I realized recently that I spend a lot of time on this page talking about other people’s businesses and not very much time talking about ours….Dope Eats started as a way for us to share restaurants we love, and that’s still a huge part of what we do. When we reach out to a restaurant about doing a Dope Eats feature, there’s no catch and no obligation to work with us afterward. Those videos are free….It’s simply our way of finding places we believe in, telling their story, and hopefully putting a few new people through their doors. But we’re also a small Pittsburgh business ourselves….We professionally shoot food photography and video, create social content, and work directly with restaurants that need help consistently showing up online. Some of those relationships have turned into ongoing partnerships where we’re at the restaurant every week creating new content, and we’re posting for them every day they’re open. Our clients have access to our schedule, we keep a steady stream of fresh photo and video content coming in, and we try to make the entire process as easy and affordable as possible for the restaurant. They get to focus on running their business while we make sure people are seeing it. And that’s really why we’ve decided to keep doing Dope Eats the way we do. We can use this page to give some love to restaurants without asking for anything in return, meet some really great people along the way, and occasionally those introductions turn into relationships where we can help them beyond a single Reel….We’re not trying to turn every restaurant we feature into a client. Most won’t be, and that’s completely fine. We just believe that if we keep doing good work for good local businesses, some of those relationships will naturally grow into something more. So here’s a little of the other side of Dope Eats. We’re a local business supporting local businesses, and I’m pretty proud of what we’re building.…If you own a restaurant and ever need help with photography, video, or keeping your social media active, my DMs are always open. @deblazeat131 ⭐️ I’ve been working with this family run restaurant for a while now, and I’ve really gotten to know the owners, the staff, and their menu. Just genuinely good people serving really good food. It’s the kind of neighborhood restaurant I love supporting. I picked out a few of my favorites for this video, but their brunch menu has a lot more to offer! Their breakfast wrap, corned beef hash, and Monte Cristo are all worth trying, and they’ve recently added biscuits and gravy too! If you’re around Carnegie on a Saturday or Sunday, stop in and give their brunch a try. I think you’ll really enjoy it! ⭐️ DEBLAZE AT 131 ⭐️ 📍 131 E Main Street, Carnegie, PA 15106 📞 412-319-7475 🥂 Weekend Brunch | Saturday & Sunday 🕙 10 AM–2:30 PM #dopeatspgh #deblazeat131 #pittsburghbrunch #carnegiepa #pittsburghrestaurants by @dope.eats.pgh
@winstonscustardpgh ⭐️ OPEN THROUGH NOVEMBER! Love the nostalgic feel of this little spot in Millvale! Mike and Erin, the awesome people behind Pittsburgh Sandwich Society…have done it again. Great food, incredible frozen custard, and definitely worth a visit before the season ends! ⭐️ WINSTON’S GRILLED EATS & FROZEN TREATS ⭐️ 📍 624 North Avenue, Millvale, PA 15209 🕓 Thursday–Friday | 4–9 PM 🕛 Saturday–Sunday | 12–9 PM #dopeatspgh #millvalepa #pittsburghfood #pittsburghrestaurants #frozencustard by @dope.eats.pgh
@badoscucina_ ⭐️ A few of my favorite shots from Bado’s Cucina over the past month or so. 📸🍕🍷 We recently started handling their social media, and I’ve genuinely enjoyed working with these guys. Frank and Rob are awesome, and the food is seriously good. If you’re in the South Hills and looking for a more intimate dining experience, put Bado’s Cucina on your list. Wood-fired pizza, Italian tapas, and a great atmosphere. Definitely worth checking out! ⭐️ BADO’S CUCINA ⭐️ 📍 3825 Washington Road, Canonsburg, PA 15317 📞 724-942-3904 🍷 BYOB 🕔 Wednesday–Saturday | 5 PM #badoscucina #dopeatspgh #southhillspgh #pittsburghrestaurants #pittsburghfood by @dope.eats.pgh
@tandl_catery ⭐️ This place was absolutely worth my time. What an unbelievable little spot 🔥 Every once in a while, I visit a restaurant that reminds me exactly why I started doing this. And T & L Eatery in Munhall is one of those places. I had the opportunity to meet Shawn and Ashley, the people behind it, and really enjoyed spending time with them. They welcomed me in on a day they were closed so I could film, and I walked away with tremendous respect for what they’re building. This is the kind of small business I love supporting. Good people putting real effort into what they do, taking pride in their work, and giving customers something worth coming back for. Meeting people like Shawn and Ashley and introducing their restaurant to a bigger audience is what makes this so rewarding for me. And the food? There’s a LOT happening in that kitchen. We’re talking Southern-inspired comfort food, breakfast sandwiches on house made biscuits, shrimp and grits, burgers, cheesesteaks, wings, mac and cheese, and an impressive selection of baked goods. Cookies, cinnamon rolls, desserts, and some seriously good fresh squeezed lemonade. It’s almost like finding a bakery and a comfort food restaurant under one roof. What stood out was the variety without losing that homemade feel. Stop in for breakfast, grab a hearty lunch, or pick up something sweet to take home. After trying several dishes myself, I’m extremely confident that anyone who appreciates good comfort food is going to enjoy this place. And shout out to @bigmikecheats for helping put this spot on the map. I love seeing people bring attention to local businesses that deserve it. Do yourself a favor and give T & L Eatery a visit. @badoscucina_ ⭐️ Wood fired pizza, Italian tapas, and one seriously impressive steak. All happening at Bado’s Cucina in Canonsburg, just outside Pittsburgh. The pizza deserves plenty of attention, but what makes Bado’s stand out is the rest of the menu. They’re known for their tapas style small plates, so you can try a little bit of everything without spending a fortune. From antipasto and mushroom truffle flatbread to homemade lasagna, cavatelli, duck, and fresh salads, there’s a lot to choose from. And the prices are surprisingly reasonable. But I have to give a special mention to the massive bone-in ribeye they prepared for me. Easily one of the highlights of my visit. It’s cooked in their wood fired oven, and the flavor was incredible. This particular cut is an occasional special and tends to sell out quickly, so definitely call ahead if you’re hoping to order it. And if it’s not available, they’ve got other steaks on the regular menu that are worth checking out. Between the pizzas, shareable plates, and wood-fired steaks, Bado’s is a spot I’d definitely put on your list….And it’s BYOB, which makes it even better for a night out. ⭐️ BADO’S CUCINA ⭐️ 📍 3825 Washington Road, Canonsburg, PA 15317 📞 724-942-3904 — Call for reservations 🕔 Wednesday–Saturday | From 5 PM Pittsburgh area Italian dining • Wood fired pizza • Italian tapas and small plates • Canonsburg restaurants • Wood fired steaks #pittsburghfood #pittsburghrestaurants #canonsburgpa #woodfiredpizza #eatlocalpgh by @dope.eats.pgh
@350bakerypgh ⭐️ An extended look at one of my favorite things to eat in Pittsburgh, the brisket breakfast sandwich from 350° Bakery….I’ve talked about this sandwich before, but I seriously can’t get enough of it. That brisket paired with their house made everything seasoning biscuit is just incredible. It’s easily one of my favorite breakfast sandwiches in the city, and one of those things I find myself thinking about whenever I’m in the mood for a really good breakfast….Sorry for the bee ig I wasn’t the only one interested in this sandwich 🐝 They’re closed today, but they’re back open tomorrow! 350° Bakery is open Thursday through Sunday, so if you’ve never had one of these, do yourself a favor and make a trip over there. I really don’t think you’ll be disappointed. ❤️ ⭐️ 350° Bakery ⭐️ 2427 S 18th Street Pittsburgh, PA 15210 Open Thursday–Sunday Brisket Breakfast Sandwich Pittsburgh • 350° Bakery Pittsburgh • Best Breakfast Sandwiches Pittsburgh • Pittsburgh Bakeries • South Side Pittsburgh Food #pittsburgh #pittsburghfood #pghfood #pittsburghbakery #pittsburghrestaurants by @dope.eats.pgh
@iovinos.neighborhood.brasserie ⭐️ One of the things I really enjoy about visiting restaurants is getting to meet the people behind them, and I had a great time hanging out with Jeff and Carol Iovino at Iovino’s Neighborhood Brasserie in Mt. Lebanon. Both of them were super friendly, and I got to learn a little more about their story, which I thought was pretty cool….Jeff actually grew up right on Beverly Road, just a few blocks from where the restaurant is today. His grandparents were Italian immigrants who got him interested in cooking when he was young, and he eventually started working as a dishwasher at Bado’s Pizza Grill & Ale House while he was still in high school. After culinary school and working in restaurants in Charleston, he made his way back to Pittsburgh, where he met Carol. The two of them opened their first restaurant together on Beverly Road in 2006, and they’ve been building their businesses in Mt. Lebanon ever since. Iovino’s Neighborhood Brasserie is their newest restaurant, and I really liked the space. It’s got a nice mix of casual and upscale, a beautiful bar, and a menu with some of their longtime favorites along with new dishes Jeff has been working on. It’s the kind of place where you could stop in for a drink or make a whole evening out of dinner. I think it’s pretty cool that Jeff grew up in this neighborhood, got his start working in a kitchen just down the street, and now has several restaurants in the same community. Really enjoyed meeting both him and Carol, and I appreciate them having me in to check everything out. If you haven’t been to Iovino’s yet, definitely put it on your list! ⭐️ Iovino’s Neighborhood Brasserie ⭐️ 306 Beverly Road Pittsburgh, PA 15216 📞 412-440-0414 Iovino’s Neighborhood Brasserie • Mt. @moonlitburgers ⭐️ I’ve been a big fan of Moonlit for years, but until this week, I’d never actually been to their Garfield location. We almost always hit the one in Dormont, so it was cool getting to spend some time in Garfield, learn a little more about what they’re doing, and try some of the new stuff they’ve added. The Garfield location has a full bar and a new happy hour food menu with a few things you won’t find at their other locations. We got to try all three: Hatch Chili Pub Burger — A thick, juicy 8 ounce burger that’s a completely different experience from their signature smash burgers. Chili Cheese Nachos — Another new addition to the happy hour lineup. Saucy Nugs — Moonlit’s take on boneless wings. We tried the garlic parmesan, which ended up being my favorite. These new food items are currently exclusive to the Garfield location during happy hour: Tuesday–Friday: 3–6 PM Saturday–Sunday: 2–4 PM And if you’ve been following me for a while, you already know how much I love Moonlit. We’ve been going there pretty much since they started. My regular order is the triple with everything on it, those thin crispy patties and all those onions, plus the smash fries, which are legitimately some of my favorite fries anywhere. And if we’re really hungry, we’ll throw a chicken sandwich in there just to be safe. Big shoutout to Maggie for taking such good care of me and helping with all the food during the shoot. @chickenlatino ⭐️ There are some restaurant owners who make you want to root for them just as much as you root for the restaurant, and Shelbin Santos is one of those people ❤️ A native of Peru, Shelbin opened Chicken Latino in 2007 after fulfilling a lifelong dream of sharing the food and traditions she grew up with. Some of her favorite childhood memories were spent around the table with extended family, eating traditional Peruvian dishes made from recipes her mother created. She wanted to bring a little bit of that experience here. And she went all in…Shelbin even imported a special wood fired brick oven from Peru so she could prepare her food in the traditional style she remembered from home. Her signature pollo a la brasa is marinated overnight and seasoned with cumin, garlic, cilantro and dried Peruvian chiles before being cooked in that oven. Nearly 20 years later, Chicken Latino is now in Beechview and Shelbin is still doing what she set out to do back in 2007. Beyond the food, she’s just a genuinely wonderful human being, and getting to tell the stories of people like her is one of my favorite parts of doing this. There’s a lot more here than I could ever fit into one reel, so go experience Chicken Latino for yourself…and make sure you say hi to Shelbin while you’re there 🇵🇪 ⭐️ Chicken Latino ⭐️ 2100 Broadway Ave Pittsburgh, PA 15216 Peruvian Food in Pittsburgh • Peruvian Rotisserie Chicken • Chicken Latino Pittsburgh • Restaurants in Beechview • Authentic Peruvian Food Pittsburgh #pittsburgh #pittsburghfood #pghfood #pittsburghrestaurants #peruvianfood by @dope.eats.pgh
