#NewPiece ✨ Custom geode. 36x48 One thing about me, I’ll never stay in one lane. I can paint portraits, pour resin, sketch ideas, build texture, tell stories, and create from whatever my spirit grabs onto in the moment. I can’t be boxed in creatively.🤷🏽‍♀️ My brain never stops taking screenshots of life, color, emotion, characters, pain, beauty… all of it consumes me This kind of work feels like meditation for me. No overthinking. No pressure. Just flow. Then when I’m finished pouring into pieces like this, I go back to painting the moments and meanings that bloom. 🌱🎨 #LateefahInLayers #GeodeArt #ResinArt #BlackArtist AbstractArt CustomArt ArtistAtWork TexturedArt ModernArt ArtCollector BloomSeason by @dopeassartist
Triangle art lovers, collectors, curators, and anybody who simply loves original art 🖤 I’m kicking off my FIRST SOLO ART SHOW, BLACK IS BLOOM, at The Parlour on Parrish in the heart of historic Black Wall Street in downtown Durham, NC. And I’m not celebrating for just one night. I’m opening the doors for a WEEK-LONG exhibition, November 9–13. If you’re in Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, or anywhere in the Triangle, I want you in the room. Come experience the work, meet the artist behind it, and be part of a huge moment in my journey. Yeah… it’s about that time. 🖤 Four years at Arts High… and a whole lot of life in between. I never wanted to become an artist the world learned to appreciate after I was gone. I wanted to be here for the bloom. And now… my first solo exhibition. 🥹 BLACK IS BLOOM. “The Best part? I’m just getting started.” 🌺 RSVP Nov 9-13th 4-9pm 📍@TheParlouronParrish by @dopeassartist
Some days building the life you prayed for looks like small steps. A little bit of progress. Another trip to the art store. Another late night, early morning Nothing looks big in the moment. But like my Aunt Dottie always said, you have to keep showing up. Build a routine and give it time. One day you’ll look up and realize you’re standing in something you once prayed for 🙏🏽for me it's my first solo exhibition Nov 8th Night of the Muse Black is Bloom collection #ruffpetals by @dopeassartist

NOW ON VIEW I’m honored to share that Capture Culture (2021) is now on view at The Parlour on Parrish in Durham, North Carolina. This 48 × 60 mixed media painting is one of my most personal works. Inspired by my experience growing up as an ‘80s Project Baby in Newark, New Jersey (Brick City), and infused with @kodakblack Project Baby album (Golden Acres)and life story, the piece explores the intersection of Black culture, identity, music, education, justice, and the American systems that shape our communities. Every symbol tells part of our story. If you’re in the Triangle, I invite you to experience it in person. Some conversations deserve more than a screen. 📍 The Parlour on Parrish 111 W.
