2020 was going to be my best year 😁
I had registered for everything I could like I do every year. I went all the way to japan oh it was soo sad not to run the Tokyo marathon 😭 I still got out there and followed the Japanese favorite running routes, and I even stumbled on a segment ✌ yeah, well the crown is gone now, but for a couple of weeks I was it.
I had soo much time in my hands this year that I finally got rid of my fear of the 50km ultra marathon distance. I was scared of this last year, but I put on my big girl pants and didn't allowed myself to be afraid 😉 and I also did 3 last year. I learned soo much and what to use, and what didn't work against chaffing and how many gels could keep me going ✌ #maurten was my top gel, and hydration powder.
I loved the block shots by clif and I always craved orange juice at the end. I don't regret nothing I did this year. I did however always forget how intense an ultra is to the body and it almost always messed me up. I could do a marathon and schedule a second right away, that wasn't a problem but do an ultra and try to do a marathon after that was a no, no for my body. I can't wait to get back to normal and get back to what we love. I'm tired of covid right now. #ultramarathon #runningin2020 #2020 #vancouverbccanada🇨🇦 #girlwhoruns #dedicated #getout #runmore #✌🏼 by @doravelazquez27

#throwback to my second ultra last year. I had no idea what to expect from the @whistler50, but by the end of the race I was very much more understanding about the whole thing. I did 5 rounds of 10km.
I saw people volunteering, and I would see them run happily the next moment 🏃‍♀️doing the relay, everyone was super sweet, and kept cheering me without even knowing who I was. I had a hard time understanding the relays, and I would try to not race some of this super fast group of athletes. I was there for the 50km after all,and needed to save my energy. I was really happy in the end, and coming out with the 3rd place was amazing all together. I think that this race will definitely be a thing I would try to get back once this covid is over. I had a massive blister in this picture 😁😁 but I was soo happy with getting my second ultra under my belt. I remembered seeing a friend of mine, and she is like " where is your team for relay" I remembered telling her " is just me" 😁 she then told me she was going to pray for me. I keep seeing her all 5 rounds, and she was indeed praying for me 🙏 hahaha I love my friends. I feel the support always 💖 #relay #ultra #bestexperience #🏃‍♀ #thebestmoments #memoriesof2019 #whistler50relayandultra #noregrets😉 this was my top 5 favorite races of 2019.
I remembered going to Victoria for the 8km and really enjoyed that one as well, but knowing that Whistler was soo close was hard to not get carried away during that little 8km. I did my best in both races and I promised to do them again, since it was such a blast. I love Whistler. by @doravelazquez27

#throwback🔙 the one race in Washington that I'm super upset to miss this year is jack and jill. last year I took transit and the train in Seattle just to get to this remote location in the mountains that I fell in love two years ago. I remembered my first year not even knowing where this place was, yet it has been very memorable since. I always do well for the half marathon. I think mostly because everyone is trying to BQ with the marathon and the half is up for grabs. I was going to get my first chance to do the marathon this year😪 not to BQ but to admire the mountain that took my breath away 2 years ago. I remembered last year I was at the pickup place at 5am and just being there with the mountain and the moon was something I will never forget. I'm sad that this year is not happening 😭 and oh what about my 2020 buff and shirt 🙋‍♀️ ok @jackandjillmarathon I will be back. #missingmyraces #northbendwashington

@fitfirstfootwear this is my mid run views and burnaby lake is a favorite of mine. I remember not even knowing where burnaby lake even was before I registered for my first race around the lake. I also remembered winning my first small @try_events rubber ducky 7miller. Great memories. #runanywhere #happyrunner #burnabylakeregionalpark #bluesky #halfmarathon #thislake #sunshines by @doravelazquez27

The plants are healthy and looking good. I don't own a pet right now, so for now having a window full of toxic plants is ok. They're only toxic when ingested and that will not be me 😄 #thesnakeplant is about my oldest plant and I don't get it at times but it's alive and growing. My #jadeplant is about one of my favorites and still sometimes I have soo many questions about it, it's alive and growing and that's all I need. My plants take my whole window and they are happy, but it's all trial and error and some will die 😭 they do bring joy to my mornings and I love to stand by and have my tea while I fussed over them. #ownplants #houseplantsmakemehappy #plantparenthood #hahaha #easyplants #livingroomdecor #theyarealive #real #💖💫 by @doravelazquez27

#happyearthday🌎 this was from a distance vacation I did in 2016 and it was all the thing's I loved the most. The beach is always a happy place. I learned how to swim with my brother by playing and nearly drowning 😅 but I learned how to 👍🏼 I have not been back since 2017 and I missed Mexico like crazy. I heard from friends that live in mexico that covid19 has given the beach a break, and it looks amazing and deep blue and clean. I hate to say this but maybe the world needed this and it has now done a deep cleaning without humans getting in the way. #thebeachismyhappyplace #clean #earth #willbeback #oneday #beautifulmexico by @doravelazquez27

#throw🔙 to my time in japan with my dear friend @northwestone_fixie 💖 our marathon got cancelled, but we still decided to go. I had the best of time eventhough the city felt a bit tense, and we all know why. Covid19 has changed our life's and everything we knew. I am thankful that we came back safe 🙏 I loved everything about this city, who was very welcoming and very impressive. I never seen anything like it 😅 I hope the city can recovered from losing the revenue that the marathoners was going to bring in, also the Olympics since the city was ready for everyone. I would definitely go back in a heartbeat, and run that beautiful marathon I registered for 2020. I pray that we don't lose who we are through this horrible pandemic. 💖 I miss my daily routines, and not running with all the amazing running crew's in Vancouver. I miss hugging and high fives 😭 this situation is all very sad and lonely. #thankgoodness #myvacation #sadtimes😭 #missingmyfriends #mycrew❤️ #misshugs #misslife #extrañoatodos #misamigos #condios #siemprefuerte by @doravelazquez27
