There’s something about standing in front of the ocean that doesn’t allow you to stay on the surface for long. It holds too much memory for that. The same water that feels calm today has carried histories that were anything but, and being here now - freely, without fear… shifts the meaning of this place in a way that can’t be ignored.

It’s not about separating from that past, but about being aware of it and still allowing a different experience to exist in the same space. The ocean hasn’t changed, but the relationship to it has. And maybe that’s where freedom lives.

Fashion carries that same duality. It has been used to define and limit, but it can also become a space of expression, identity, and choice when created with intention.
