Welcome to the world Sofia Esther Bhatti!

A month ago today you came into our lives and changed everything forever. The last 30 plus days of our lives has been the most challenging yet rewarding month we’ve ever had. We owe it all to you and can’t believe how much you grow and change everyday. If you told me 5 years ago I would be writing down how many pee’s and poo’s you had; I’d call you crazy. Now it’s the only life I want to live!

To my wife and life partner Diana. Your strength during 30 plus hours of labor and 9 months of carrying our girl is something I sit in awe of everyday. In the moments leading up to Sofia being born; you truly became a mom. A mom, your mom would have been very proud of and one that is smiling down from heaven seeing her oldest daughter be the bravest person I know. I can’t wait to do this next chapter with you like every other chapter before. With love, passion, and a lot of laughing along the way.

I love you both with all my heart! by @dose.of.dlr

Still can’t believe this is happening!! Thank you July for a month of soaking in summer warmth, dates, preparation classes, reading and reflection. Grateful for every season we’ve had together, especially the sweet waiting and leaning on one another in this one.

See you soon, love Mom + Dad 🥹

Time is flying by! ⏱️💕🎀👶🏻

From the first symptoms, to taking the test, going to the doctor, holding my breath between every appointment and managing my anxiety- we’re almost in the final stretch!

I’m having a baby with the love of my life!!!

The cute, funny guy I met in high school 16 years ago!

The charming one I’ve been married to for 6 years!

Who has seen me, cared for me, grown with me and loved me through each and every stage of life thus far-

Including the fun ones, the difficult ones, the ones full of light and those that were dark.

He loves so softly, openly, thoughtfully, deeply, generously, and honestly…

He’s already an amazing dad and partner for sure.

Our little girl is going to be so lucky and know how much she is loved.

How much she is wanted.

How much her parents love one another(!)

Mother’s Day can be complicated for many reasons.

Over the last 6 years, I went through a wave of experiences and emotions that have shaped me to be the person I am today, and still becoming every day.

There’s been Mother’s Days in my mid to late twenties where I struggled in the depths of grieving my mom’s death, at the very bottom of waves of sadness, anger, confusion, depression.

There’s been Mother’s Days where I was sure I wouldn’t be one, Mother’s Days where I questioned if I ever wanted that for myself. There’s been Mother’s Days after going through a missed miscarriage, and Mother’s Days knowing that I 100% did want to be one.

I’m proud to say this year is a little different- as I close off my 20s, this is my first Mother’s Day actively pregnant and carrying my own baby girl, due later this year.🌈

I miss you mom, that’ll never change- as I step into this new chapter I hope I’m as good at mothering as you were of me. Soon I’ll have my own little girl here with me and I can’t wait. ❤️‍🩹

This weekend I’m finally taking a moment to rest. This month’s been go-go-go so far! How was your week?

Decorate this year’s Christmas tree together with me!

The holidays can be tough for so many reasons, especially for those who have lost loved ones and are grieving, going through a hard time or currently in a rough patch.

Nothing cheers me up more than seeing the glow from the tree, reminiscing on warm childhood memories, and putting up our favorite ornaments which have held on for years.

I realize as an adult that Christmas magic really came from my mom- but now it’s up to me to make it special for myself and our home 🥹
