I’ve been asked to share the advice I offered as I closed my keynote commencement address at Point Park University.

1. Do good for goodness sake. Kindness is not transactional. Do not perform kind acts expecting reciprocation.

2. When you win, make sure someone else is winning with you. Sharing even 25% of your win with someone else does not take away from your success.

3. Say good morning, say good night, say I love you, and say sorry. Only when appropriate. But never hold back from fear that it won’t be returned.

Congratulations Point Park University class of 2024. I look forward to watching, reading and hearing of your success. I encourage each of you to chase curiosity, become trailblazers, and truly GO PIONEER! by @dpfields2

“Neuromodulation continues to demonstrate that it can open entirely new treatment avenues where conventional therapies have reached their limits,” said Daryl Fields, M.D., Ph.D., neurosurgeon and site principal investigator at the Lillian S. Wells Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Florida. “To see this technology now applied to a disease as burdensome as severe asthma is a meaningful step forward for our field, and for the patients we treat.” by @dpfields2

Sharing our sneak peeks is the only proper way to bring in baby month!!! We’re ready whenever you are, Beau 🩵

What if a biomarker could help tell us more about what’s happening after a brain injury? 🧠

Dr. Daryl Fields II is investigating one of the gaps in brain injury research: the need for objective biomarkers that can help us better understand injury and how patients may respond to it.

Through his grant from the Chuck Noll Foundation, Dr. Fields is working to identify biological signals that could provide researchers and clinicians with more information about an individual injury.

The long-term potential is significant. A better understanding of these biomarkers could one day help move care beyond a one-size-fits-all approach and toward more personalized treatment strategies based on the individual patient.

That’s the power of research: identifying what we don’t know, asking better questions, and building the evidence that could shape how patients are treated in the future.

We’re proud to support researchers like Dr. Fields who are working to close the gaps in brain injury care.

A recent article highlights our neuromodulation program at the Malcolm Randall Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida!

Lead neurosurgeon Dr. Daryl Fields: “No matter how a veteran enters the care system, they’re presented with every option…collaboration [amongst pain specialists, behavioral therapists, pharmacists, physical therapists, and surgeons] is what makes our program successful.”
