💧 Update on Baltimore’s Water Supply (10/7/2026). DPW has activated the Deer Creek Pump Station to draw water from the Susquehanna River and supplement the City’s reservoirs during the ongoing drought. Please note: Susquehanna River water has NOT reached residents’ homes yet. ☝️ The water will travel to the Montebello Water Treatment Plants, where it will be treated, tested, and gradually blended with reservoir water. Baltimore is NOT switching to 100% Susquehanna River water. DPW will continue its rigorous treatment and testing processes to ensure water meets drinking-water standards. Minor changes in taste or odor are possible, but not expected. 🚰 Voluntary water restrictions remain in effect. Please continue conserving water as drought conditions persist. Every drop counts. 💙 by @dpwbaltimorecity
🎥 Baltimore City DPW is in the spotlight! We’re proud to be featured by PWX TV, the official video and broadcasting network of the American Public Works Association (APWA). For more than a century, Baltimore City DPW has been protecting our drinking water, managing waste, maintaining critical infrastructure, and serving approximately 1.8 million people across northern Maryland. Much of our system was built more than 100 years ago. Today, our dedicated employees are working every day to maintain, modernize, and prepare these critical systems for the next century. 💧🛠️ ▶️ Click the link in our bio to watch the full PWX TV feature on YouTube and see the people and work behind Baltimore’s public works system. by @dpwbaltimorecity
♻️ Let’s get recycling right, Baltimore! Follow the 3Cs to make a real impact. 1️⃣ Clean it (empty, dry, and residue-free) 2️⃣ Contain it (no plastic bags—use a bin or box) 3️⃣ Curb it (out by 6AM on your collection day, 5AM during summer hours). Doing it right helps keep our recycling stream strong and our city clean. 💙🌱 Not sure what to recycle, please use our recycle right tool by clicking the link in our bio! 🔗 #RecycleRight #BaltimoreCityDPW #Sustainability by @dpwbaltimorecity

An important step forward for Baltimore! 💧 We’ve expanded our Sewage Onsite Support (SOS) Program to provide free professional cleanup for qualifying sewage backups caused by both wet-weather events and dry-weather blockages in City-owned sewer lines. We recognize the challenges sewage backups can create for households and sincerely appreciate the residents who have shared their experiences and perspectives with us. We hope this expansion will provide greater peace of mind and meaningful support to those who may experience a sewage backup in the future.
