Cheesy, buttery, garlicky… with a little chia for good measure. 🧀🌿

Somewhere between a KFC biscuit and a cheesy scone.

Ingredients

260g plain flour
3 tbsp cornflour
1–2 tsp chia seeds
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
1 tsp salt
½ tsp garlic powder
113g cold unsalted butter
120g grated Cheddar / Red Leicester
240ml buttermilk

For the topping:
3 tbsp melted butter
¼ tsp garlic powder
1 tbsp fresh parsley
Optional chilli flakes 🌶️

Bake: 200°C for 15–20 minutes, until lightly golden.

Save this one for your next cosy afternoon. 🤎

I’m always get asked about my jewellery 🇹🇹✨

I’ve been eyeing these pieces from @anton.est1996 for a while, and one thing I really appreciate is their transparency - prices are right there on Instagram, so I can budget, choose what I want and know what I’m walking into. No surprises, no awkward price differences.

Shoutout to Crystal (I hope I remembered that correctly) at West Mall for the sweetest service and taking such good care of my pieces 🤎

The quality, the value and the craftsmanship just make buying jewellery in Trinidad feel so much better. I’m already eyeing my next pieces… and I might finally get something custom made 👀

Also, ignore the mosquito on my forehead. He clearly wanted a cameo. 😂🦟

Note: Wearing gold jewelry does not reliably treat or prevent arthritis, but it’s good enough reason to go shopping!

I love these little quirks of Trini English. 🥹🇹🇹

crispy → cripsy

icing → ice-ning

film → flim

These may not be right, but they’re also not wrong. Most important rule when you hear someone using them: mind yuh business

Cripsy and flim are actually documented as forms used in Trinidadian speech, and “flim” especially has been around in older Trini usage.

What otherer words do we cuteify? 😂

Toffee figs on porridge 🤎

Fresh figs + salted butter + heat = sticky, caramelised goodness. No added sugar needed.

Then I sprinkled on cocoa nibs + edible flower petals because pretty food is my love language. 🌸

But the sprinkles aren’t *just* for looks - adding more plant foods means more dietary diversity, which is important for a happy, diverse gut microbiome.
