POSTS STORIES REELS

Chief Communications Officer for the first 100 days — a role that combined Press Secretary and Communications Director for both the Mayor and the City, a position tailor-made for my background in government communications, media relations, writing, strategy, and broadcasting.

And, of course, I got back in front of the camera producing and hosting content for Comcast Channel 77, highlighting City initiatives and community stories through programs that I created like “Hometown Heroes” and the “Hialeah Minute.”

Life got busy, and I didn’t have the chance to showcase some of this work—so here’s a little tribute! Keeping residents informed was my #1 priority.

After the first 100 days, I made the decision to step away from the role to accomplish two major personal and professional goals: finish my Doctorate in Strategic Communication and launch Anabel Media Group, where I’ve continued doing what I love through hosting, public relations, media, and strategic communications.

Now, doctorate completed and another chapter behind me, I’m looking forward to what’s next—and to bringing 20+ years of government communications, public affairs, executive messaging, media relations, storytelling, and on-camera experience to my next role.

Sometimes you have to close one chapter to make room for the next.

There’s no teleprompter in the field. 🎤

As a storyteller, I take knowing the subject matter seriously to deliver the message naturally and accurately on camera. You can say I am a little bit of an expert in a lot of different things by now like military, trains, airplanes, sports, food, animals, law enforcement … and that’s only the beginning.

Here are a few of my favorite clips from a chapter in my life I enjoyed very much (2 yrs ago)! I had the freedom to find and pitch my own stories while covering South Florida across four counties — from Palm Beach County all the way down to Monroe County and the Florida Keys.

The best storytellers never stop being students of the world around them and in order to authentically deliver a meaningful story, they must fall in love with the subject matter along the way, and hopefully they make the audience fall in love with the story too! 💕

☀️ Pockets of Sunlight 🍂 In a world surrounded by sad events, find peace. 🤍

Nature daily is as essential to our mental healthiness as drinking water to our livelihood. For Bruce and I, peace is in our backyard & my solo bike rides in the state park. I spend more time barefoot or in sneakers than in heels. 🌿🐾🚲

Wishing you pockets of sunlight this November, wherever they may be.☀️🤍 by @dranabeltvhost

BREAKING DOWN COMPLEX INFORMATION: Over South Florida, the crew radioed that they were picking up “light, clear ice” and moderate turbulence at 35,000 feet and asked to climb. Moments later, the jet went into a steep dive and crashed in Greenacres, Palm Beach County.

It’s hard to picture ice forming over South Florida. But at cruising altitude, the air cools about 3.5°F for every 1,000 feet, no matter how warm it is on the ground. And the Gulf of Mexico works like a giant heat engine, pumping moisture into storms that tower miles high.

Not all ice is the same. Rime ice is white and rough. Clear ice is glossy, heavy and harder to see, and it can spread back across the wing before it freezes.

Does the size of the aircraft matter? Airliners use a bleed-air anti-ice system: hot air drawn from the engines is piped through the front edges of the wings and the engine inlets so ice can’t build up, and ice detectors warn the pilots or switch the system on automatically. Many business jets use similar systems and are certified to the same strict FAA icing standards.

Smaller propeller planes (like the one ➡️ I’ve flown in) often rely on inflatable rubber “de-ice boots,” or have no ice protection at all, and many small aircraft, including many Cessna models, aren’t approved to fly into known icing. Still, no system is a guarantee.

💚✝️ 1st year anniversary & new appointment as Deputy Grand Information Officer honored by His Highness Prince Don Francisco de Borbón Graf von Hardenberg, the Order’s 50th Grand Master, The Military and Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem. ➡️ News Clips Highlights

An international Order of Knights and Dames united by faith, chivalry, and humanitarian service, our mission transcends borders, bringing together members across 42 jurisdictions in 37 countries on five continents…including Spain to England and Wales, United States and Canada to the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and across continents to South Africa!

My heartfelt gratitude to the Grand Prior of America, H.E. John Francis Byrnes, Jr. and to the Grand Priories, Priories, and Bailiwicks around the world for embracing my passion for storytelling and allowing me to bring our humanitarian mission to life through three original productions:

🎙️ The Green Cross Report — Sharing the stories, missions, and humanitarian impact of our Order worldwide.

⚔️ Knights in Action — Highlighting the extraordinary people behind the titles and their commitment to service.

💚 Diary of a Dame — A personal journey through faith, tradition, service, and the meaning of modern-day chivalry.

For me, storytelling has always been more than communication. It is a way to preserve history, honor service, and inspire others to make a difference.

New episodes coming soon!
