What does wellness mean?

To me? To my community? For the future?

More to come from the @team.ultrablack Wellness Panel this past weekend. What an incredible experience, from the stories and passion shared by everyone on the panel, to the sold out audience of over 100 black and beautiful people. The art was giving, and the documentary reminded us all what it means to persevere through community.

This feels like the beginning of something exciting and I can't wait for you all to continue on this journey with us.

What if we took care of our own body as if we were athletes?
Would we then commit to the workouts we said we would do?
Would we then fuel our bodies as if life was our championship finals?
Would we sleep and drink water and say no to the things we ought to ?

Just food for thought 💭 by @drchadellchiro

Exciting news! Our team is growing!

Say hi to our two new Trail Collective team leads, Aya Tomioka (they/she) and Chadell Phillip (she/her). These two amazing humans bring an enthusiasm for all things Trail Collective: commitment to improving inclusion in the sport, deep values of equity, safety, and belonging, a joy that is infectious and time well spent on the trails. Please check out their bios on our website and make sure to give them a high five and a warm welcome next time you see them!

Thank you Aya and Chadell for joining the team! 🫶🏿🫶🏽🫶🏻 by @drchadellchiro

Fall season has been giving us some gorgeous sunsets for the @thefirststride__ sessions

Week 3 Complete ✅✨ by @drchadellchiro

We're having some end of summer nostalgia! Looking back on all the amazing photos and videos from our end of August Got Grit Trail Race has us smiling as we relive all the high-fives, snacks, laughter, and glorious trail running that we shared.

We welcomed folks who had NEVER run a trail race before! We cheered on folks who found their inner grit and headed out for another loop! We saw old friends and made new ones. We came together under the forest's canopy to celebrate all the capacity, confidence, and community that was built over the summer! Creating events where folks can find joy and belonging on the trails is why we do what we do. But of course, we are a community and we don't work alone. So, thank you to every runner who made the Got Grit Race such a huge success. Heartfelt appreciation to the following friends:

To our dear friend John who brought tables, a tent and tasty Xact products that stocked our second aid station. Of course, this was all accompanied by his genuine warmth and love for this community!

To our pal Eric who sent a bunch of Skratch products to stock our start/finish aid station. Your generosity and support were deeply felt!

Thank you to Kortnee, Denoja, Chadell, and Kate for coming out to cheer and run around in the woods with us. This is what we call the good people network! These amazing folks are doing the work in their respective communities and clubs to improve inclusion in the running space.

Lastly, we want to express deep gratitude to our friend Aya for creating our first ever TC merch! Those beautiful handmade bandanas are a labour of love and will surely become a very coveted TC collector item. This is what a collective looks and feels like. Seeing the folks who come to our events feel included and contribute. We all get to grow and nurture and build this community. It doesn't belong to any one person. Aya's bandanas represent everything that TC stands for. Wear them proud and think of us when you're wiping your sweat and snot and questioning your life choices on some big climb, some rainy slog, or when your tears of joy and gratitude for what you have accomplished roll down your cheeks.

We are thrilled to introduce our Got Grit? Summer 2026 Trail Run Clinic Series!

In an effort to get more women and gender diverse runners into the sport of trail running, The Trail Collective and Chix Run the 6ix are collaborating to bring you an incredible 4-part summer clinic series! As always, our goal is to build capacity, confidence, and community in trail running! This series is specially designed to prepare you for the 5 Peaks Area 8 trail race, held July 18th 2026 in Milton, Ontario. Each clinic session includes a 4-7km inclusive paced run plus specialized coaching, tips and support from our expert guest facilitators. Chasing the Falls 130km ✨

Well this was not on my bingo card for my 2026.

This being my 7th time crewing an ultra marathon running adventure, I think I have to admit now that I really do love this stuff.

Forever inspired and in awe of what people are capable of, physically and mentally, and so honored to continue to make friends in this community.

Cheers to another trauma bonding adventure bring people together 😂
