God, thank You. 💕

Someone asked me this weekend what I wanted to do next, and I answered honestly: “More of the same.”

It is a privilege to do what I love. It is an even greater privilege to do it in service of organizations whose missions uplift, empower, and create meaningful change in Black and Brown communities.

One of the most rewarding parts of my work is the opportunity to intentionally source, engage, and invest in women- and minority-owned small businesses. There is something deeply fulfilling about creating opportunities for others while bringing a client’s vision to life.

To @ywcagbr and @diannapayton5, thank you for entrusting your mission, your vision, and your reputation to my team and me. Serving alongside you for the past two and a half years has been more than an honor.

Yesterday’s inaugural YWCA Women’s Empowerment Summit was a beautiful reminder of what is possible when purpose, partnership, and passion come together.

No event of this magnitude happens because of one person. It takes many hands, many feet, and countless people working toward a shared vision. To every creative, vendor, contractor, partner, and member of my team who contributed to this experience, I am profoundly grateful.

I don’t take the work, the relationships, or the opportunities lightly. To my friends who I neglect and see in public spaces and ignore because of my tunnel vision, I'll be back after Classic. You know I love you.

More of the same, God. More purpose. More impact. More opportunities to serve. 🖤 by @drekalynn

Summer is over, and here’s Part II of my photo dump. 🌻

Bailen and I found our rhythm, settling into a new chapter that already feels like it belongs to us. New streets. New routines. New memories quietly becoming tradition.

Summer gave me long conversations, spontaneous nights, beautiful friendships, belly laughs, good food, music, and love in all its different forms.

Nothing overly planned. Nothing needing to be proven. Just life unfolding sweetly around me.

Summer ’26, you were very good to me. Until next year, my love. 🌻 by @drekalynn

Grateful and excited to share that I’ve been selected for the 9th Cohort of CHANGEMAKERS with the Baton Rouge Alliance for Students, alongside 27 incredible community leaders.

Ready to learn. Ready to serve. Ready to make change. #CHANGEMAKER

A special thank you to Ann Tillage, a CHANGEMAKER from last year’s cohort, for encouraging me to apply. Sometimes, we simply need someone to remind us that there’s another room where our voice belongs. 💙

I’m looking forward to learning, listening, and becoming an even stronger advocate for the students and families who call Baton Rouge home. I’m honored to be part of this work and excited for what we’ll accomplish together.

For me, this opportunity is about more than being selected it’s about becoming better equipped to advocate, to listen, to understand the systems shaping educational outcomes, and to use my voice and influence with greater intention.

Thank you Baton Rouge Alliance for this amazing opportunity. Go give their page a follow and click the link in their bio to hear from the students of our city💙.

Also, ecstatic to take this journey with two of my favs @ki_whitfield + @kristi_muse 🤍 by @drekalynn

Check on your strong friends, folks. My not-so-little buddy started 8th grade today. Of course, I joined Ladies for Purple Scholars and of course, I'm sliding down the wall. To Bailen's village, thank you for everything. #PurpleKnights #BailenBlair by @drekalynn

Who decided summer ends when school starts? Certainly not me. I’m soaking up every last sunset, every trip, every brunch, every laugh, and every excuse to be outside. The season doesn’t end until September 22nd. Argue with your Momma. #SummerDump #SummerKnights #BailenBlair by @drekalynn

Dad, thank you for everything. This was the last Father's Day you were alive. So glad you came over so I could cook brunch for you. Happy Heavenly Father's Day you are still my favorite human. I miss you tons but I appreciate you more. #DaddysGirl #DaddyBlair by @drekalynn

Mama Kathy, you are simply amazing, and celebrating you comes so naturally. Congratulations on being named the 2026 Sustainer of the Year by the Junior League of Baton Rouge.

Your leadership, grace, wisdom, and unwavering integrity have inspired and shaped so many of us. The example you set through your service, kindness, and commitment to others is a gift to everyone fortunate enough to know you.

Thank you for your guidance, your encouragement, and the countless ways you have poured into our community and into the lives of those around you. This honor is so well deserved, and I cannot think of a more fitting recipient.

Congratulations and celebrating you always @kathyannwxok ♥️💐 by @drekalynn

Since 2019, Jack and Jill has filled my first weekend of May with the sweetest events. This year felt especially sweet, and for that, I’m deeply grateful. Cheers to friends, family, and the ones who’ve become both. 💙🤍💖 #BRJJ #SeniorSalute #BlackFamilyDay #LongLiveJackAndJill #SandboxFriends by @drekalynn

This weekend, my niece and I had the opportunity to attend the inaugural Refining Fire Women’s Conference.

The keynote speaker, Bern Nadette Stanis, the beloved “Thelma”, from Good Times delivered a powerful message. She spoke candidly about Alzheimer’s, the weight of caring for aging parents, and the transitions women face in their 40s, 50s, and beyond.

Her words were a reminder that the beauty of aging often comes with responsibility. Honoring our elders, caring for them with dignity, and giving ourselves grace as we grow, change, and step into new seasons of life is imperative. To my Mother and close friends who care for their mother's hats off to you. Sending you love and light as you care for the one who once cared for you. 💜🔥💞

I was acknowledged during the program for my event logistical and vendor coordination support.
