this is your tiny reminder to say YES a little more often — you never know what experiences are waiting on the other side of an invitation 💌...

i promise the work will still be there when you get back, so make sure you come up for air sometimes and enjoy this beautiful gift we’ve been given with the human experience, called life.

it’s no mistake that you’re here, and now it’s your duty to make the most of it and LIVE 🤍 by @drewxeron

Throwback to 2015 my photo won top 10 photo of 2015 on @500px the model @robintrieschmann and I also won editors choice award multiple times Back in 2015, I would spend entire days and nights creating photographs simply because I loved the art of it.

No clients. No deadlines. No creative briefs. No expectations. No one to please but myself.

I would lose track of time experimenting with lighting, chasing ideas, and creating images that existed for no other reason than the fact that I wanted to bring them to life. Some worked. Some didn’t. But every photograph was mine, from the vision to the final edit.

I miss those days.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m incredibly grateful that I’ve built a career doing what I love. There’s something special about having people trust your vision enough to pay you for it. I never take that for granted.

But somewhere along the way, the business of photography started taking up more time than the art of photography.

And lately, I’ve been feeling that pull again. That desire to create without a purpose, without a paycheck, without anyone else’s expectations.

Just me, my camera, my imagination, and all the time in the world.

I think it’s time to make room for that again.

Because long before photography became my profession, it was my passion. And I never want to lose sight of that. by @drewxeron

Back in the lab, working on some low-key, high-contrast monochrome portraiture.

I met Sean over a decade ago at a barbershop. A Chicago native, he’s one of those guys I’d cross paths with every now and then over the years.

Some people don’t need to say much for you to get a sense of who they are. Sean always struck me as that kind of man.

Cool, calm, collected. Strong presence. No unnecessary talk, no need to prove anything. You get the impression he’s seen a few things, knows a lot more than he lets on, and prefers to keep it that way.

Old-school character. Quiet confidence. The kind of masculinity that doesn’t need an introduction.

I wanted this portrait to capture exactly that. by @drewxeron
