#TeamToyota In-car of the first proper donuts on pavement in the #Celica after a great time filming with the @snapon_official team and @race.service. THE FEELING - ONE - SPEED Last October I flew to Singapore to spend 1 hour in a high rise hotel room to talk with @carlossainz55 I had directed him on shoots throughout the 2022 F1 season, but I didn’t really know him. I don’t think many people get to. I wanted to know how he feels. How it feels to go as fast as he does. How it tastes to take a pull off of a bottle of champagne on the podium. What he sees when he sees an F1 car. The smell of his home race. The sound synchronicity - when it all comes together. This series of 5 shorts is about those things. I hope it also contains even a momentary glimpse into the complexity and sincerity of Carlos. I hope it helps us get to know him better. I’ll be dropping my new spoken word mumble rap album on mic with my dad @jaroddeanda at @gridlifeofficial Midwest on June 3rd + 4th. We’ll be MC’ing the drift sessions and then probably laying in the grass pointing out cool looking clouds for the rest of it. Tune in on Gridlife’s Twitch, YouTube, and FB. Schedule to be announced soon. #GRIDLIFE | #GRIDLIFEMidwest | #GRIDLIFEFestival by @driftidiot
Free Rein: Faroe Islands now live on the @fordperformance YouTube Channel. Takk fyri! #FreeReinFaroeIslands @raceservice @vaughngittinjr by @driftidiot
Thank you for sticking around. I hope you watch the thing at 11AM EDT tomorrow on the Ford Performance YouTube channel. Making it has been the most profound journey of my life thus far and so many intensely talented people from around the world came together to bring this project to life. And most of all - TAKK TIL ALLAR FØROYINGAR 5 of 5 #FreeReinFaroeIslands @fordperformance @raceservice @vaughngittinjr by @driftidiot
The Faroe Islands are… WHIMSICAL The fairytale landscape defies explanation. It must be seen, and in this case, experienced to get a vague idea of the majesty it contains. There’s magic in these hills and surprises beyond each river bend. AWAKE Through its people, animals, and wildly varying climate, the Faroes are full of Earthly energy. While the shot may feature an immensely vast and seemingly empty mass of craggy land, there’s always a whisper of energy and vibration just beneath the surface. The people there harness that energy and carve through its stone - but they do so with utmost care and with intention for a brighter, cleaner, more connected future. HEAVY AND ENDURING The immense weight of its ancient, pristine landscape is constantly present. It’s powerful and ominous, but instead of dread, its vast areas of emptiness leave you feeling warmth once you look closer and experience the details that lay within. 4 of 5 #FreeReinFaroeIslands @fordperformance @raceservice @vaughngittinjr by @driftidiot
Vaughn is… THE WONDERSTRUCK AND INTREPID EXPLORER Sometimes drifting through spectacular scenery. Sometimes engaging in epic or tender moments of awe and humanity. Always having fun. FOCUSED YET DISTRACTIBLE He pilots the 1400 with unmatched precision and intense skill, but can be easily pulled astray to stop and smell the flowers. RESPECTFUL AND GRATEFUL Vaughn is here to experience the islands and their rich culture while having a ton of fun in and out of the 1400. While ripping through the countryside, he makes sure to pay homage to and holistically pay respect to The Faroes. 3 of 5 #FreeReinFaroeIslands @fordperformance @raceservice @vaughngittinjr by @driftidiot
