The PAACE top performer this week is @julianortizr_! DISCIPLINE: Doing what you have to even when you dont want to. According to @academy.golf coach @mbermudezgolf, Julian has been very disciplined and it is showing up big time in his progress as a golfer! That’s what our program at The Golf Performance Academy is all about! Great job Julian! #performance #attitude #coachability #effort #juniorgolf #golf #tgpa #dowhatittakes #collegegolf #mexico #international by @drjoshbrant
@william.sp3ncer has been putting in the work in the gym this month! Leading by example, Will pushed himself to get better each rep, each set and motivated his peers to do the same! Keep up the good work! Grinding behind the scenes will always be rewarded! #performancegoals #dowhatittakes #tgpa #grind by @drjoshbrant
In honor of Women’s History Month, I’d like to give a shout out to my great-grand aunt, Fanny Colburn Osgood (1882~1929) who was a pioneer in the world of womens golf. A member at The Country Club, in Brookline, Massachusetts, Fanny was also the first USGA Women's Committee Chairmen, serving that position from 1917-1919 helping to establish and guide the future of women's golf in the United States. Fanny also served as president of the Women's Golf Association of Boston from 1925-1929. Although she was clearly an exceptional politician, leader, and advocate for women's golf, Fanny may have been an even better player! Among her many on-course accomplishments, Fanny won the Women's Golf Association of Boston Championship 5-times (1903, 1904, 1910, 1911, 1914) and the Women's Eastern Golf Association Championship 3-times (1906, 1908, and 1910). Happy Women's History Month to Fanny! Thanks for being an inspiration! by @drjoshbrant
Using a chest-strap style sensor, our athletes track their heart rate during match play. Compared to baseline measures, there are times on the course when their heart rate is 70 plus beats per minute higher! And from a psycho-physiological perspective, it is not all that surprising given that when under significant stress, our ability to be self-aware becomes diminished. Once we identify the times during the round when athletes show physiological signs of distress, we come up with a plan to more effectively cope with and manage stress response during a round — with the first step always being to develop self-awareness. With a little bit of training, our players are able to quickly identify when they are stressed to the point of interfering with their play and can work towards recovering. As it turns out, when you ask the heart what it knows, it can give you helpful feedback about how to play better golf. by @drjoshbrant
