The reason I do this started with my own children. When they were struggling, I went everywhere looking for answers. I spoke with doctors, therapists, and specialists, but no one could clearly explain what was actually happening in the brain. That never sat right with me. If we’re going to help a child, we need to understand the problem first. What began as a personal search turned into a 30-year journey studying the brain and looking deeper at how development actually unfolds. That led to identifying patterns like hemispheric imbalances and the role of primitive reflexes, and ultimately developing a method focused on function and the root cause, not just managing symptoms. Everything I’ve built, from my research and published work to the programs and tools we use today, has come from that same goal: to give families clear answers, real hope, and a path forward they can actually follow and see real results. If you’re trying to understand your child, or you’ve spent years without clear answers yourself, there is a reason for what you’re experiencing, and there are ways to address it. Honored to be a part of Kevin James' journey in helping his daughter overcome autism and severe tics through the Melillo Method. Hearing his story on @joerogan podcast was truly inspiring. Let's continue breaking barriers! Get more information on how we can help your child 👉 comment INTENSIVE #AutismAwareness #MelilloMethod #NeverGiveUp by @drrobertmelillo
It is called the Melillo Center for Developing Minds, and the building takes the name seriously. One side for children. One side for adults. Because a mind that is still developing is not only a seven year old’s, and the things it goes through do not stop at a birthday. Dr. Melillo walks through all of it here. 📍 Rockville Centre · 347 Fifth Ave, NYC See where it happens. Request an evaluation at the link in bio. by @drrobertmelillo
Most people who have followed my work have never seen the complete 10-level Melillo Method Program. I teach healthcare professionals many of the concepts and principles behind my work, but the complete 10-level clinical program is something patients receive through the official Melillo Centers. The levels allow us to progress the program rather than simply repeating the same activities indefinitely. As function changes, the challenge changes. As the patient progresses, the program progresses. That's one of the most important differences families should understand when comparing something described as "similar to the Melillo Method" with actually receiving the official program. Created by Dr. Robert Melillo. The complete 10-level Melillo Method Program is available only through official Melillo Centers. Want personalized guidance on the best next step for you or your child? What if Alzheimer’s doesn’t start where we think it does? In this conversation, @drrobertmelillo asked us to look past the diagnosis. Instead of focusing on genetics alone, he looks at the whole story of the brain, from how it develops in childhood to how it changes over a lifetime. This one stayed with me. If changes begin long before symptoms appear, maybe prevention needs to begin much earlier too. 🎧 Full conversation is on YouTube, Spotify & Apple Podcasts. 🧠 RIGHT BRAIN. LEFT BRAIN. MYTH OR MISUNDERSTOOD? 🎙️ NEW EPISODE of Everything Brain with Dr. Robert Melillo and Dr. Peter Scire! What if some of the most important clues about a child’s neurological development aren’t found on a brain scan—but in their everyday behavior? In Episode 14, we’re challenging the oversimplified “right brain, left brain myth” and exploring how hemispheric differences may influence autism, dyslexia, sensory processing, motor development, and more. 🔍 Why imaging doesn’t always tell the whole story 🧠 What behavioral patterns may reveal about brain function 🧩 Why understanding the individual matters more than simply treating a diagnosis The brain is complex. Understanding it requires looking beyond the label. 🎧 Episode 14 is dropping! Babies are naturally born with a leaky gut, which plays an important role early in life. As development progresses, digestion, immune function, and nervous system regulation change along with it. In this video, I explain how brain maturation, primitive reflexes, the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, and gut development are connected. Gut problems, inflammation, and other physiological issues still need to be addressed, but it's important to look upstream at brain development and regulation first rather than focusing on the gut alone. Brain fog. Trouble concentrating. Mental fatigue. It's easy to blame these symptoms on getting older, being busy, or simply having too much on your plate. But sometimes it's worth asking a different question: How well is my brain actually functioning? At the Melillo Center, we don't want to only chase symptoms. We look at how different areas of the brain are functioning and working together using the hemispheric model of the Melillo Method. For adults, that may include an individualized program incorporating approaches such as LENS neurofeedback based on your specific needs and goals. Your brain and mental health are individual. Your approach should be too. To learn more about how we can help you, comment HELP and we will DM you personalized information. #melillomethod #brainfog #brainhealth #mentalhealth #neurofeedback by @drrobertmelillo
The hand flapping. The rocking. The same sound, over and over. Most parents have been told to redirect it, stop it, or wait it out. Very few have been told what it might be for. Dr. Melillo starts somewhere more useful: every one of those behaviours is doing a job for that child. Understand the job and you understand something real about how their brain is organised. It is not a habit to break. It is information worth reading. 📍 Rockville Centre · 347 Fifth Ave, NYC Book an evaluation at the link in bio. by @drrobertmelillo
Personalized shouldn't just mean putting someone's name at the top of the same program. Before we determine what a patient should work on, we evaluate how different systems are functioning. Where are the strengths? Where are the weaknesses? Are we seeing asymmetries? What happens when multiple systems have to work together? Those findings help guide what we target and how the program progresses. Two people can have the exact same diagnosis and leave our evaluation with very different programs. We measure first. Then we program. The complete 10-level Melillo Method Program is available only through official Melillo Centers. Want personalized guidance on the best next step for you or your child?
