Some people train to look strong.

I’m training to become stronger… physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally.

Today’s workout wasn’t about chasing a personal record. It was about developing explosive power, improving stability, refining control, and embracing the discipline that meaningful growth requires. Every exercise had a purpose. Every rep was another investment in becoming the best version of myself.

The gym has a way of revealing truths that extend far beyond fitness. It teaches humility when you’re reminded there’s always another level to reach. It teaches resilience when the weight feels heavy. Most importantly, it teaches that growth begins the moment you stop negotiating with your potential.

Every challenge presents a choice: remain comfortable or become better.

Today, I chose growth.

Tomorrow, I’ll make that same choice again.

What challenge are you choosing to face this week? Drop it in the comments. I’d love to hear what you’re working toward and cheer you on.

Aspire to Inspire Before You Expire.

Maximize Your Greatness.

A🔥🔥 to Grass…….Forty-five loading...

Every rep is a reminder: I’ve survived things heavier than this barbell.

Still standing. Still grinding. Still applying pressure. Big dawg energy only. We ain’t letting up over here.

1. Saturday, 5-17. American Heart Association Florida Heart Ball. The Ball unites supporters with a shared purpose: to raise critical funds needed for the organization’s work to continue. Their mission is to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives in Florida. Support this organization; they bring life-changing and life-saving education and awareness to the causes and prevention of heart attacks and strokes. 2. Tuesday 5-20. United Way Miami Luncheon With Leaders. This was a panel discussion by three extraordinary Miami philanthropists and community and board leaders. Volunteerism and giving back were two major themes. The Young Leaders Giving community is a group of young professionals who support the United Way Miami through their Time, Talent, and Treasure. Join UWM YL. One of the best decisions in my life was the day I decided to join the United Way Miami Young Leaders Society and advocate support and champion the work and impact of this wonderful organization. In 2023, I was blessed and honored to receive the United Way of Miami’s Dorothy Shula Outstanding Volunteerism Award. 3. Thursday 5-22. The Miami Foundation’s 10 annual State of Black Philanthropy. Hosted at the Black Archives at Historic Lyric Theater and a celebration at The Urban. This event was EVERYTHING! We reflected on the Freedom to Live, Thrive, and Write the Future. We enjoyed special performances by local artists and honored the 2025 State of Black Philanthropy Champions. by @drtravnation80

Rolling up my sleeves and serving with purpose! 💚🍽️

Monday was about more than preparing meals. It was about people coming together to make a difference!

I joined an incredible group of volunteers at Mitzvah Kitchen for the 2nd FNFA Prep for Good Day, supporting families experiencing food insecurity throughout Miami-Dade County.

Our goal? 350+ hot meals and 250+ bags of food for families in need!

I also learned about Mitzvah Kitchen’s network of 47 distribution partners working to extend the reach of these efforts throughout our community.

A HUGE THANK YOU to Pat Morris from Mayor Daniella Levine Cava’s Office and Arely Lozano Cantu, Director of Health Access and Livability at Urban Health Partnerships (UHP), for this incredible opportunity! 💚 Thank you both for your leadership, your dedication to our community, and for bringing people together to make a meaningful difference.

Much appreciation to Mitzvah Kitchen, the FNFA Collaborative, and every volunteer who showed up ready to serve!

Every meal matters. Every family matters. Every act of service matters.

46. And still becoming. 🎂✨

Today, I celebrate 46 years of life, but these pictures tell a more recent story.

They begin with the little boy who had no idea where life would take him, then move almost entirely into this past year: the people, places, friendships, service, laughter, work, community, unexpected moments and memories that made 45 a year I will never forget.

This year reminded me that thriving does not mean everything goes according to plan. Sometimes thriving means adjusting. Sometimes it means choosing yourself. Sometimes it means showing up for other people while finding the strength to keep showing up for yourself.

I enter 46 grateful for where I have been, proud of who I have become, and excited about who I am still becoming.

More life. More purpose. More joy. More impact. More memories.

Chapter 46 begins now.

Last Tuesday, September 1, I had the opportunity to attend Miami’s Community News’ Greatest Networking Breakfast in Miami, featuring Miami-Dade County Public Schools Superintendent-Elect Rafael A. Villalobos. 📚

It was a great morning connecting with community leaders, catching up with familiar faces, meeting new ones, and hearing about the future of public education in Miami-Dade County.

With M-DCPS serving as the third-largest school district in the nation and the largest in Florida, the responsibility of educating and preparing our next generation is tremendous. Strong schools help build strong communities, and that work requires all of us to remain connected, engaged, and invested.

Congratulations to Superintendent-Elect Villalobos as he prepares for this next chapter of leadership! 👏🏾

And y’all know me. If there’s an opportunity to connect with good people doing good work in Miami-Dade, I’m probably somewhere in the room. 😂

Some moments are bigger than a picture. 💚🤍

Friday night, we came home to Easley High School to celebrate our friend and classmate, Justin Bray, and his induction into the Easley High School Athletic Hall of Fame. 🏆

And WHEWWWWW… the Class of ’99 showed UP! 😂💚

His parents. Classmates. Teammates. Coaches. Old friends. So many hugs, laughs, stories and memories packed into one night.

And then there’s Candice and me… 1997 to 2026. 😂 Same friendship. A LOT more life. Seeing those two pictures side by side is WILD! 💚🤍

I came from Miami as a surprise, and standing back inside W.A. “Bill” Carr Stadium with people who were such a huge part of those years reminded me just how special these bonds still are 27 years later.

Justin should have been standing there with us. But seeing his parents surrounded by so much love and watching his legacy honored by Easley High School was something I will never forget.

Congratulations, Justin Bray. 🏆

Easley High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

Forever a Green Wave.
Forever our teammate.
Forever our classmate.
Forever our friend. 💚🤍

And Class of ’99… apparently we STILL know how to have a good time. 😂

I really woke up this morning and chose violence… against my own abs. 😂🤣💪🏾 Core said, “We’re done.”
I said, “That’s cute. One more set.” 😂💪🏾

Because apparently regular leg raises weren’t disrespectful enough, so we added the ankle weights. 😮‍💨🤣

Some mornings, the workout looks smooth. Other mornings, you’re on a decline bench questioning every decision that brought you to this exact moment. Either way… WE WORKIN’. 😂

Strong core. Strong mind. Stronger every damn day.

There is something powerful about being in a room filled with people who are genuinely committed to making our community stronger. 💚💙

Yesterday, I had a great time at the Nonprofit Showcase, presented by STRIVE305 and the South Dade Chamber of Commerce, connecting with nonprofit leaders, community partners, businesses, and organizations doing meaningful work throughout South Dade and Miami-Dade County.

Events like this remind us that none of us does this work alone. When we share resources, build relationships, exchange ideas, and create opportunities for collaboration, our collective impact becomes that much greater.

A special thank you to Jose Gonzalez, Vice President of STRIVE305 for the Miami-Dade Beacon Council, and Lisa Albizu-Vazquez, President & CEO of the South Dade Chamber of Commerce, for bringing people together and creating a space for organizations to be seen, heard, and connected.

South Dade has some incredible people doing incredible work, and I’m always glad to be in the room where community, collaboration, and opportunity meet.
