🎓🎶 Graduation Spotlight | Mackenson Orne 🎶🎓

I’m incredibly proud of this young man.
Mac came in on baritone and leaves as the lead trombonist of The ROAR — a true testament to growth, discipline, and quiet excellence. 💯

Truth be told, I’ve rarely seen him shaken. Always composed, always punctual, and always serving. If something needed to be done, Mac was already moving.

Section Leader. 🫡 Equipment Manager. 💪 KKΨ President. 🤘 Band President. 🦁
Not just titles — leadership in action.

His transition to trombone in 2023 aligned with a historic moment — The ROAR earning Division II Band of the Year. I won’t say he planned it… but the timing sure was right. 👀

And he leaves the trombone section strong and stacked for the next generation. That’s legacy. That’s impact. 🗣️

Mac, as you enter Music Education, know this — you are already equipped. Stay committed to excellence, and your students will rise to meet it.

You will be missed, no doubt. But it’s time for the world to experience what we’ve known all along.

I am truly blessed and deeply grateful to be a graduate of the illustrious Florida Memorial University. First and foremost, I give all thanks to God for granting me the strength, wisdom, and opportunity to experience this incredible journey. Attending Florida Memorial University has been one of the greatest blessings of my life, shaping me into the person, musician, and leader I am today. Throughout this journey, I have gained unforgettable experiences, lifelong relationships, and valuable lessons that have molded me into someone prepared to make a meaningful impact on the world. What a truly memorable evening! We came together to honor President William McCormick, the first alumnus to lead Florida Memorial University—a historic milestone worth celebrating 🎉

This special celebration featured outstanding performances by:  🎶 The ROAR Wind Ensemble  🎤 FMU Gospel Choir  🎷 The Lion’s Cub Jazz Combo  🚩 The ROAR Fierce Flags & Lion Essence  🎺 Tuba/Euphonium Ensemble

As FMU commemorated Founder’s Day in March, this moment felt especially meaningful. I truly believe the founders would have been proud to witness this powerful and historic occasion 💙🦁
