What an experience hosting Pan Yaad 2026 at the historic Government House in Belize City! 🇧🇿🥁🎶 And yes… my first time ever attending a steel pan concert! What an introduction! 😍 Government House was completely transformed into a celebration of music, culture and energy, with 7 stages featuring 11 performances from 10 bands—4 junior and 6 senior ensembles—along with a special solo performance by Alexander Evans and the exciting debut of Trinidad & Tobago’s 868 Ignition! 🇹🇹🔥 From calypso and soca to Latin, jazz and dancehall, the range of sounds and incredible musicianship had the entire place moving. Talent! Talent! Talent! 🙌🏾 And the best part? Everybody was dancing! 💃🏾🕺🏾 Honoured to have been part of Pan Yaad 2026 and to experience firsthand the power of steel pan to bring people together through music, culture and pure Caribbean vibes. 🇧🇿❤️🥁 #PanYaad2026 #SteelPan #Belize #CaribbeanMusic #MusicAndCulture by @duanemoody.1985
🇧🇿 History. Culture. People. Legacy. It was truly an honour to serve as Director of Ceremonies for the Official Ceremony commemorating the 228th Battle of St. George’s Caye Day, held at the historic Government House in Belize City. The poignant and thought-provoking speeches throughout the ceremony invited us, as Belizeans—both at home and in the diaspora—to pause and reflect: What does the 10th of September mean to you? What does our history mean to you? And how do we carry the legacy of those who came before us into the future? For me, the occasion was deeply personal. My own family lineage can be traced back to the 1798 Battle of St. George’s Caye, including ancestors among the 14 Flowers Bank men who played their part in this defining moment in our history. Standing at Government House, more than two centuries later, and being entrusted to help commemorate this pivotal chapter of our story was both humbling and profound. History is not simply something we remember. It is something we inherit, preserve, live and pass on. Today, we celebrate the resilience of our people, the richness of our culture and the stories that have shaped Belize. 🇧🇿 Happy 10th of September, Belize! History. Culture. People. Our legacy. Our Belize. by @duanemoody.1985
A New Queen. A New Chapter. A Purpose Greater Than the Crown. On Saturday August 8th, 2026 we witnessed more than the crowning of a queen, we witnessed the beginning of a journey rooted in purpose, passion, and environmental advocacy. To everyone who came out to support us, filled the Belize Civic Center, cheered for our delegates, and helped make the inaugural Miss Earth Belize 2026 pageant a reality, thank you. Your energy, encouragement, and belief in this movement mean more than words can express. And now, we proudly welcome our new Miss Earth Belize 2026, Vashti Thompson! Vashti, your journey begins now. May you wear the crown with purpose, lead with compassion, and use your voice to inspire meaningful change for our environment and our communities. The crown is beautiful, but the purpose behind it is what truly makes a queen. Congratulations, Miss Earth Belize 2026 — Vashti Thompson! Your reign begins. by @duanemoody.1985
