🎓 The Secret History - review “We still believe in ghosts, we just call them memories”. It’s impossible to write this review in just a few paragraphs, because if there’s one book that makes you want to discuss it for days without a pause, it’s this one. I think you need to have a specific taste to absolutely love this book from start to finish. For me, that wasn’t quite the case. I have to say it upfront, before I start to explain myself. Overall, I enjoyed this book so much, but there were also a few things I didn’t enjoy. So, my rating is 3.75 ⭐️.
Why? Let me explain. Reading this book made me restless. I’m the type of reader who loves to lnow the story as it truly is, which is a big problem here, and you can probably guess why. Because we don’t know a damn thing. We can speculate about the events that occurred in this book, we can come up with a lot of theories, but the truth is, we’ll never know for certain what really happened. And I think that’s really something. I just wish I could crawl inside their minds because I’m desperate to know the whole truth. Some may say, “You enjoyed it so much, and yet you gave it 3.75⭐️?”
Well, yes indeed. For me, the book started really slow. I struggled at the beginning to get into their world. You know I love big books, but I truly think this one was unnecessarily long. It’s both plot and character heavy which is a big plus for me. But the thing is, we don’t know a lot of things about these characters, do we? Like…. I’m both impressed and confused. 📖 Little reading update: “…I believe that it is better to know one book intimately than a hundred superficially.” (read that again, and again, and, for a good measure, once more) As u may already know, I’m currently reading The Secret History 🖤 I’m taking it slow since I don’t have a lot of free time these days but let’s just say, I have a lot to yap about this book, the question is will I share my thoughts, because I can already tell I won’t even know where to start 🤔 Sometimes we mortals will never understand fictional characters. I love how these particular characters have their own thing, communicating in their own way. And honestly, I believe they’re like ‘Don’t even try to understand us… this is between us’ and I think that’s epic. . . . . #books #bookish #book #bookstagram #bookreview #read #reader #readers #reading #bookpost #bookstagram #bookish #thesecrethistory #darkacademiavibes by @duende_books

- books & fashion - I’ve been thinking about changing my content a little bit. Nothing crazy and definitely nothing out of character, okay 🫠But I feel like I owe you a little explanation in case you start noticing more fashion content around here than usual. And honestly… it’s because of you and your comments and all your cute little messages asking me for fashion advice. 🥹🤍 As you may already know, besides books, my love for fashion has always been pretty visible here too. So I thought, why not mix these two passions of mine and make this little corner of the internet feel even more…me 🥹 Books will always be a huge part of this page, but I also want to give myself the freedom to share the other things I love. Thank you for every comment, message, recommendation, compliment, and kind words you leave here. You probably don’t realize how much they mean to me, but I truly appreciate every single one 🤍 And if you’re here strictly for bookish content and fashion posts aren’t really your thing, that’s completely okay too. The unfollow button is always there and I promise I won’t take it personally🤞🤍 Sooo, that’s it folks, hope you’re all doing well, kisses 💋💋💋 by @duende_books
