Seasonal eating isn’t just trend… it’s the way people have been eating for generations & generations! 🍅 Here’s four reasons why you should eat local! 🫑 1. PRODUCE PICKED WHILE RIPE Grocery store produce is often picked green, packed up, shipped on a truck or a boat, to the distributor, then driven to the stores. This can take weeks at a time!! Local produce is harvested when it’s actually ready to eat. 🌽 2. IT’S DIRECT FROM FARMER TO YOU Instead of spending weeks in transit, or sitting in warehouses, local produce is often picked that same day, gets stocked in the Market and right to your table! 🍉 3. BETTER FLAVOR & BETTER FOR YOU Local produce is picked when it’s RIPE, it develops its full flavor along with its vitamins and nutrients. You can taste the flavor & the difference! 🍅4. YOU’RE SUPPORTING YOUR LOCAL FARMER + COMMUNITY Every purchase from a local farm helps support the families growing your food, strengthens your local economy, and helps preserve farmland for future generations!
