Cobalt after the tide — Harbour City side

The tide carries the day away and leaves a ribbon of cobalt behind. The city's loudness softens into something intimate.

Taken from Harbour City, looking towards Central. This blue comes right after tide pulls out.

💭 Where do you find stillness in the noise?

📍 Harbour City, TST — Victoria Harbour view | Xiaomi 14T

Moments Stretched in Time
Boats blur into luminous trails, towers shine with unwavering clarity, and the water remains calm as if holding its breath. A long exposure transforms fleeting seconds into something lasting, reminding me that stillness and motion are not opposites but companions. The harbour becomes a meditation on balance, the coexistence of speed and silence, ambition and pause. 🌊🏙️ How do you find your own balance between stillness and motion?

The widest view from Avenue of Stars.

Most people zoom in on the sunset, I zoomed out. Clouds heavy over Hong Kong Island, harbour calm, boats small in the middle. From left to right, the whole skyline in one breath.

Swipe to see it all — Instagram crops this, but the real view is this wide.

📍 Avenue of Stars, Tsim Sha Tsui

Weekend lunch at COMMUNE in Futian, Shenzhen. Spacious and sunlit, with an unhurried pace. The crispy golden wings were crunchy outside and tender within. The truffle mushroom pizza was generously topped, though the crust was a bit chewy. The creamy truffle pasta leaned light on flavour. Friendly staff, comfortable setting, around 95 RMB per person. A casual Western meal in a roomy space — a simple way to relax for the weekend.

A weekend afternoon at the Starbucks Reserve in Huaqiangbei, Shenzhen. The store recently adopted a “purchase-to-sit” policy, bringing back the comfort and calm it once had. A classic hot chocolate and a mocha frappuccino, sitting by the window, watching the mall flow by. Though the occasional phone speaker still drifts over, the overall atmosphere is much improved. A true third place, restored.

Not just sunset, the whole sky decided to show up.

From Star Ferry Pier, TST — clouds like cotton, sun melting behind Central, gold path on the water. Boats going home, day ending slowly.

15 seconds of Hong Kong doing what it does best.

A weekend dinner at Dewei Guan in Shenzhen’s MixC. The free-range chicken was firm and flavourful, dressed simply with scallion oil. The fish tofu and fish skin dumplings with loofah were soft and sweet, lightly seasoned to let the ingredients speak. The claypot rice with black bean ribs and extra sausage arrived steaming, with a crisp rice crust, rich but a touch oily — a cup of tea balanced it well. Attentive service. Around 80 RMB per person, a warm Cantonese meal.

120x speed. 36 minutes of sunset in 18 seconds.

Shot TODAY from Star Ferry Pier, TST. Stood there for over half an hour, compressed into 18s — sun dropping, boats racing, sky from gold to pink.

This is what 36 minutes at the pier looks like at 120x.

A weekend afternoon at Dema Tea House in Shenzhen‘s MixC. The roasted tea with coconut and cheese was smooth and savoury-sweet, lightly sweetened at half sugar. The salted cheese with charcoal-baked black tea was deep and layered, less ice keeping the flavour clear. Seats sit along the mall corridor, calm when quiet. Under 30 RMB per cup, a thoughtful tea for a quiet afternoon.

Four boats, one sunset, one Hong Kong.

From Star Ferry Pier, TST — tugboat up close, red-sail junk in the middle, Star Ferry on the side, and the whole skyline turning gold.
You don’t need to go far for the best view in Hong Kong. Just show up at golden hour.

📍 Near Star Ferry Pier, Tsim Sha Tsui
