Just over a year ago, I drove my Hilux 2,774 miles across the country to bring her back home. Since then, I’ve been building this truck piece by piece to get it to where she sits today.

This past weekend, I placed #1 Truck at @toyotafest in Greenfield, MA. 🥇

It was definitely bittersweet. I’ve put an incredible amount of passion, time, hard work, money, and effort into this truck, especially when it comes to sourcing rare OEM parts and getting everything just right. Building this truck with my dad was another thing i have always wanted to do.

Over time, this truck has become so much more than just a vehicle to me. I’ve never really been someone who fully enjoys a vehicle the way I enjoy this one. I genuinely love driving it. And talking about it. It takes me wherever I want to go, and is as clean as they come.

I’ve been working toward this build since before I even got the truck, with the goal of creating an OEM+ build that stays true to what the Hilux Surf was meant to be, while adding my own personal touch along the way.

There’s still more to come, but seeing it sit where it is today, and having it recognized as #1 at ToyotaFest makes every late night, every rare option, hard to find part, and every dollar spent worth it.

Idk why I never posted this. But here is my zero rust , 1st gen Tacoma with 84 k miles. The truck I was searching for for over a year. Originally wanted a double cab but realized I needed more bed space. Had to be impulse red of course. Welcome back Toasty . And now I have two limiteds in my collection. #1stgentacoma #hiluxsurf #toyota by @duney4r

Had the cops called on me for being in the “walking path”

Karen asked “is that a car” … No it’s a surf . Obviously it’s a car… smh
