POSTS STORIES REELS

Bittersweet memories of CRC campout..

I MASSIVELY celebrate the @consciousrappercommunity for everything they’ve accomplished, for the beauty in the messages, the power in the lyricism and how much passion this community has. It was inspiring to be around so many talented humans 🔥🔥

And I loved having @kyronmurrell MC’ing and rapping over the set. Really added so much!

Being honest, it wasn’t all highs. There were tech issues that could have been avoided and multiple times I wasn’t listened to. It felt really triggering as a woman and a DJ with experience, to not be taken seriously and left me feeling disrespected. Because of all this my set got cut short, which felt like a slap in the face after all the energy and time I’d put into it.

A lot of the time I feel conscious about not making people feel uncomfortable and then end up not being assertive. So my message to you ladies is, trust yourself and don’t let anyone brush over what your truth or needs are. And especially don’t let anyone dismiss you with ‘love & light’ comments like ‘it will be fine’ or ‘stay positive’ 😄 women are allowed to be angry too lool

I’ve uploaded this 1 hour Jungle/DnB/140 mix to Soundcloud and Mixcloud. Links in bio 🫶🏽

We love learning new songs at Music for Wellbeing & Tower of Strength, written by Kath McMillian & Ini was a smash hit with our community! ✨

@dunyalamrhari learnt it from her bestie @jai_jayanti and couldn’t stop singing it! 🎤

What beautiful affirmations & such an uplifting song 🙌🏾

Medicine & rainbow songs with @dunyalamrhari 🌈🎶

Dunya & the team @ Somerset Arts Well have been busy learning Makaton, because it’s an AMAZING way to communicate & our community loves it when we match movement with words 🙌🏾

Matching physical movement with singing engages multiple brain regions at once, releasing feel good hormones, reducing stress AND building strong neural pathways 🧠😌🧘

We cannot wait to integrate this into our practice more 🙏🏽

Join us on Winter Solstice Eve @ St Benedicts church in Glastonbury! 💕 This is going to be a exquisitely beautiful day, a heartfelt ceremonial offering in this sacred Celtic church where all paths are honoured. We will be holding this space of being human together - through prayer, connection, dance, music, community, nourishment, vulnerability, joy and reverence. Honoured to be invited to share music as @hieros_gamos_music, bringing our own original songs from powerful proto-Celtic ancestral chants to medicine music and immersive soundscapes - and bringing our cacao, botanical bar with other festive goodies 🎄and delicious nourishing food with @alchemysts_of_avalon ❤️

Privileged to be sharing alongside the epic medicine woman @dorrie.joy - beautiful songstress @maebirdsings and the absolute vibes of @dunyalamrhari and awen power of @lucia.escuder

Come join us and bring in the solstice & the returning of the light on this very special day of humanity, love and soul ✨

Part of ticket profits and a fundraiser on night will raise money for @cropsnotshops - an awesome local land based project giving out organic food to communities

It’s time to open our voices & express 🎤🎵

So many of us have blockages around singing, even though it’s our birth right. Most of us struggle to speak up or express our truth..

We keep trying to ‘keep the peace’ all the while stifling our own voice & creating more stagnant energy. We keep running the same program ‘I can’t sing’ cause of past stories of rejection.

But your voice is so powerful & so needed!

So, come & join this beautiful community of women every Wednesday in Wells 🙏🏽 led by @elizawylie with support from @dunyalamrhari

Singing Mamas is for all women, not just mums but we definitely welcome the little ones! Let’s gather all the sisters, aunties, mothers, grandmothers and friends and reconnect with the joy of singing!

📆 every Wednesday
🕣 9.30 - 10.45am
📍 Seager Hall, Wells
🎟️ £5 per person

Yummy raw snacks & chai included ☕️

Ide Were Were 🌊

This beautiful ancient chant is a traditional prayer from West African Yoruba spirituality, dedicated to Oshun, the divine spirit of sweet waters, love & spirituality ✨

One of the ancient Yoruba myths suggests that the human race would not exist if Oshun had not been sent to our world 🌍

More & more I find myself channelling the fear programming of this matrix reality, into prayer & song. Rather than giving all of my attention to the worlds news, I give my energy to devotional music which brings me peace 🙏🏽

Let’s stop worshipping false idols & distracting ourselves with the mainstream narrative, which keeps us in a perpetual state of anxiety. And instead worship & devote our energy to what’s real 🐠🐳🏞️

Water is real, water is life, liquid light, it holds memory, it is conscious & responds to our emotions, thoughts and music 🔮

This sacred chant reminds me how grateful I am for the waters 🌊🙏🏽
