💫 For Your Consideration 💫 Before girls learn to speak up, they learn to be ashamed. FILTHY follows a thirteen-year-old girl, cornered by the pressures of adolescence and the shame of purity culture, who finally refuses to carry that shame any longer. She lets her rage loose—and it catches. One girl’s fury becomes a revolution, and on the other side of it, joy. In a world still working to keep girls small, her freedom is an act of beautiful defiance. Huge congratulations to writer and director Lisa Cole, our incredible cast—Loretta Devine, Samantha Bartow, and introducing Harley Grey—and the entire FILTHY team. Thank you for letting me be part of this powerful story as an associate producer. So proud to be part of this journey! #FYC #foryourconsideration #liveactionshortfilm by @durvaagya

We’re beyond excited to share that BHANGI has been officially selected for the 20th Anniversary edition of the Poppy Jasper International Film Festival 🎥✨ This festival has supported our work time and time again, and it truly feels like coming home. PJIFF isn’t just a screening platform — it’s a community that deeply values independent filmmakers. The encouragement, resources, hospitality, and genuine care they offer mean more than ever in these times. They create space for stories that matter. BHANGI tells the story of a young Dalit boy forced to choose between risking his life cleaning a septic tank or facing an uncertain future. Rooted in research, lived realities, and deep empathy, this film was created to honor dignity and demand that we confront systemic injustice. ✨ And we’ll be there! We’re so excited to experience the festival in person, connect with fellow filmmakers, and engage in conversation after the screening. Please come say hello — we would truly love to talk with you. 📍 April 9, 2026 🕓 4:00 PM 📍 The District Theater, Gilroy, CA So grateful to PJIFF for continuing to champion powerful storytelling and for believing in our work. Let’s celebrate cinema, community, and stories that spark change. #PJIFF2026 #IndependentFilm #SocialJusticeCinema #BhangiFilm #Filmmakers #FilmFestivalLife #cinemaforchange #femalefilmmaker #bipocvoices #indiefilms by @durvaagya

When I heard that Bhangi is going to be receiving an award at @northamericanfilmassociation, I knew instantly what I was going to wear! A piece of clothing that represents my essence - adorned with this incredible handmade jewelry made by folk women from India. ✨🎬 BHANGI at NAFA 🎬✨ Bhangi had the honor of being part of the North American Film Association (NAFA) Film Festival 2025, celebrating Marathi cinema on a global stage! 💜 Our Executive Producer Mayank truly embodied the spirit of the role — representing the film with strength, dedication, and passion throughout the entire festival. His presence anchored Bhangi every day of the event, engaging with the vibrant Marathi creative community and holding space for our film’s powerful message. 🙌 Our writer-director-producer Durva joined for the awards night, and described the experience as a dream come true — to be surrounded by the Marathi language, stories, and cultural richness so far from home was deeply moving. The closing panel, filled with wisdom and heart, left a lasting impact. Thank you to NAFA for creating this incredible platform for North American Marathi voices and welcoming Bhangi with open arms. More soon on our festival wins… but for now, we’re holding this moment close. 🏆 #Bhangifilm #NAFA2025 #NAFAFF2025 #DurvaagyaProductions #IndependentFilm #MarathiCinema #RepresentationMatters #BIPOCFilmmaker #VoiceOfTheVoiceless #CinemaForChange #FemaleFilmmaker #teambhangi by @durvaagya
