Glory shots of the Fister.

My entry into @battlelineminis Painting competition #bmpc25

Forgot to take some nice photos but ended up doing it when I was photographing a top secret project.

Now I've taken photos I think I'm gonna add some fixes to stuff I can see more clearly now.

Lazarus is done. He is my main entry for @fenmodelshow.ely it's was pretty tight at the end. Only finished in yesterday.

Something I've come to realise with this model is how much I rely of others to help me get to this stage. So I have some thank yous!

Thank you @paint_trench_crusade and @an_average_minipainter for being my sounding board for all this mini painting. Couldn't do this with out you.

Thank you to @the_miniature_painting_tutor for your wisdom and pushing me to be a better painter and helping me change my approach to mini painting.

To @infernalbrush thank you. Your tutorials and work are a constant inspiration to me.

Are you sick of me posting about JRR Tolkien yet? No?

Good,.... being a huge Tolkien fan and living where he lived, studied and taught never gets old but getting to share all of this with my friends is something that will never get old or boring.

So come with us as our little Fellowship went on our own little adventure throughOxford, seeing the places that inspired Tolkien and where he spent a huge amount of his life.

Maybe I should start doing these Tolkien tours for a living 🤔 lol 😆

Last week I had the pleasure of visiting Oxford with @dazmaul_hobbies @dusty_minis and @hampsterhobbies where we were lucky enough to have a rarewalk around Merton college where JRR Tolkien once studied and taught! We were able to see the tolkien table where he sat and wrote parts of The Lord Of The Rings and what inspire the council of elrond, his dorm room where he was inspired to conjure the towers of orthanc and minas morgul and tree that he sat under in one of his famous pictures! A huge tick on the bucket list and a cracking bunch of dudes to spend the weekend with and thankyou so much daz for having us!

Had the absolute best time with these lads, Showing them around my neck of the woods and all things Tolkien (and a lot of lesser known Tolkien things too). I love Showing people around these beautiful places and it's all made better by getting to do that with some of the best friends a nerd could ask for.

1. Outside Radcliffe Camera
2,3 & 4. Sat at the Tolkien table in Merton college where Tolkien sat and worked on the later parts of the Lord of the Rings, this is also said to have inspired the council of Elrond
5. Outside Carfax Tower
6. Inside the Lamb and Flag pub, the place the Inklings moved their meetings to from the Eagle and Child during later years.

Once again i didn't take enough photos, but it's more about living in and enjoying the actual moment. by @dusty_minis

So PEACHCON happened! It was a good day spent with the family wandering around the stands, checking out the entries in the competition and getting to have an albeit brief catchup with some hobby friends (I’ll link as many as I can below!)

I was sadly disappointed to not come away with a coveted peachy tips trophy from the competition (potentially just missing out on bronze to @paintedbyrock10!) But it was great to see some hobby friends taking theirs away! Particularly @dusty_minis for not only winning gold in single mini but even taking home the “flayer sword” for best in show! And being obligated to come back and judge next year.

Thanks mr @__peachy_tips__ for a great day out, I look forward to coming again next year! Below are some of the awesome people I met or caught up with and apologies if I missed anyone!

So a thing happened!

I went to Peachycon run by the amazing @__peachy_tips__ and won Gold in Character and also was awarded the flayer sword!

Not only did this happen but my I think son got gold in youngbloods and @marmaladegrrl got silver in monster!

What an awesome day!

Great to catch up with @paintedbyrock10 (who cleaned up on awards and the raffle) @madhousehobbies and @silverpaintsminis.

Apparently I need to go back and judge next year! by @dusty_minis

Back from the most epic weekend @fenmodelshow.ely.

Very pleased to have won Gold in standard again. Feel genuinely conflicted over this one. My imposter syndrome is so strong that I can't fathom that I belong, but results are telling me that I do. It's gonna take me a long time to process and even then I'll feel confused

Thank you to everyone who said kind words to me about my work, I'd probably break Instagram if I tagged you all.

Special thank you to @grimdark_gundam @marmaladegrrl and @an_average_minipainter for being the best company for the whole weekend. I love you guys.

This thing brought some memories back. 1993. Awesome.

Thanks to @davehammer40k for helping me get my hands on one of these.

More heads in for the project we can't talk much about right now, all we can say is it involves space marines and helmets, as well as members of our community painting some up.

Here is what we've been sent back by @dusty_minis and they look absolutely beautiful, cannot wait to show you more.

In the meantime make sure to follow @dusty_minis and show some love by @dusty_minis

Lazarus picked up a Silver at MPO.

Just got back from Minature Painting Open organised by @cultofpaint. What a show. The quality of work was immense and I had little expectations because honestly, the work on show melted my brain. So many talented people out there.

Having some time to decompress and absorb the weekend and what I've achieved with Lazarus.

He has now won 2 x golds, 2 x Silvers and a finalist pin. That's pretty incredible when I think he is only my first attempt at a competition piece.

He will now go into retirement though. I can't keep showing him forever. Unless GD comes back to the UK!

I want to thank @madhousehobbies, @paintedbyrock10 and @ironfather_painting for being excellent company this weekend.

I will be going back next year. by @dusty_minis
