S A R D E G N A: My sun-kissed Sardinian tan may already be fading, but your serene waters and sunsets will be etched into my memory forever! You were always the main character of this trip; and you exceeded all my dreams and desires. I couldn’t get enough of your crystal-clear waters, I felt like a local driving along your backroads, and I experienced so much cultural bliss with you that it brought me to tears. It’s clear why you have 2 Blue Zones on your magical island - and I hope to return to you someday. Grazie!

R O M A!! I had 3 days to seize and conquer as much of you as possible! I fell in love with your language, culture, history, architecture, and of course all the flavors! Your cobblestone streets killed my legs but was totally worth it. I feel I somehow covered a lot while barely scratching the surface, and I can’t wait to return someday! Ciao!

Street vibes in Trastevere

My favorite cafe I visited every day: Café Trastevere!

So much inspo!

Ceiling masterpieces: some of the many beautiful works of art at The Vatican

Got lost going home and stumbled across this beauty

Best carbonara I’ve ever had, best tiramisu I’ve ever had, best funghi pizza I’ve ever had, and a pretty decent amatriciana

My Sistine Chapel selfie

These stunning Roman sculptures were one of my favorite parts of the Vatican

A gorgeous church I stumbled into

4 sites in one day: the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, and the Spanish Steps

Pieces from The Vatican Museum

One of my favorites from The Vatican

Wanted to take all these home with me

More from The Vatican

Cappuccino & pastries, pizza, Suppli & Spritz, Mortadella from Roscioli

I was obsessed with all the artwork every!

E U R O P E 2 0 2 6: Time seemed to bend while I was with you. I had 2 weeks to absorb as much of you as I could. 2 countries, 4 destinations, and somehow time lasted an eternity. Words can’t express the sensory stimulation I experienced, and I loved every second of it. From the historically and cultural richness of Rome, to the beauty and serenity of Sardinia, to the elegance of the French Riviera - I was charmed.

Traveling solo for 2 weeks initially made me nervous and excited at the same time. I really learned to embrace my solace and independence while abroad and it was life changing. Until next time!

Au revoir summer! Today is the last day of summer…and as the fall equinox approaches tomorrow - I’ll be en route to Europe! My eat pray love moment, I’ll be traveling solo for 2 weeks! I’m a little sad it will already be Fall when I return to San Diego - but so damn excited (and maybe a little nervous) to embark on this trip of a lifetime to Italy and the French Riviera. Ciao for now SD! ❤️

SELF-CARE SUMMER sabbatical update:
So far the last 4 weeks have been pretty damn epic! I’ve had ample time to enjoy summer, reflect, live life to my fullest, and spend quality time with my loved ones. I’ve been a total beach bum, a sunset chaser, and a dancing queen. I jumped in Lake Tahoe, got a tattoo, have been working out regularly, saw a Shakespeare play, and have done whatever I want that will bring me all the joy and happiness!

Burnout is real, and I think it’s a huge epidemic in not only our society but specifically in the food and beverage industry. It’s imperative that we take time to recalibrate, rest, and invest in ourselves! A lot of people have been asking me what’s next or what my plan is, and I don’t have that answer right now. What I do know is that I feel grateful and blessed to be able to take this time and to be surrounded by so many loved ones and such a supportive community that has embraced my recent decision to focus on my health and wellness. More to come so stay tuned as I continue on this journey! by @dyanuh

Life update…

After four years I’ve made the decision to step away from my role as General Manager at Fort Oak and take some time to recalibrate.

When I moved back to my hometown of San Diego in 2022, I never imagined how integral this restaurant would be in my life. I’m incredibly proud of what our team has accomplished, and SO DAMN PROUD of having led one of San Diego’s best restaurants.

What I’ll cherish most are my people. To my amazing team who showed up every day with heart, drive, passion, and hustled hard: thank you! To the regulars who became dear friends: I appreciate you! To my friends throughout SD’s hospitality industry who supported us, dined with us, and cheered us on: you rule!

This role gave me so much more than a career. It gave me a family & a community. My home away from home, my support system when life had its tough moments. The friendships, conversations, memories, and connections I’ve made over these past four years are what I’ll carry with me the longest, and for that I’ll always be grateful.

I’ll be around for a couple more weeks, so if we’ve gotten to know each other through Fort Oak then I’d love to see you before I leave at the end of July. Come by and say hi….but not goodbye - since I hope to see many of your faces around town.

Thank you for making these past four years so meaningful and memorable. I’m excited for what’s ahead, but I’ll always be grateful that Fort Oak was such an important part of my San Diego story.

With gratitude,
Diana 🤍 by @dyanuh

W E L L N E S S • R E S E T • Puerto Escondido was the reset my nervous system needed badly. Spending 5 days there solo with a loose plan of rest, rejuvenation, and self reflection was exactly what I had wanted for myself. Slow mornings, sauna, yoga, and the fresh ocean air were so healing. What a magical place, with so much beauty. Thank you Puerto!

March 2026: not just a month filled with joy and beautiful experiences, but also a milestone for me. A birthday, yes - but more than that, a reminder of how much life can change in a year.

This time last year, I was in a very different place. Mentally. Emotionally. Spiritually. I’m so proud of the growth I’ve done and how much stronger I’ve become.

I’ve learned how to show up for myself in ways I never had to before. I’ve learned that healing isn’t linear, but it is powerful.

This month was filled with beauty, gratitude, and quiet strength. I feel so blessed & grateful to be surrounded and supported by my loved ones and community. To be able to make memories with my family and friends in such a beautiful city like San Diego.

Here’s to growth, resilience, and becoming someone you’re proud of.

If you’re evolving too—I see you. 🤍 by @dyanuh

January asked me to slow down and I listened.

I stayed for the sunsets. I embraced self care & sovereignty. I indulged, surrounded myself with my favorite people and soaked up this life. I helped my parents move back to San Diego! I’m really excited about 2026!
