An incredible Tangle-summer 🫶🏻

Happy three years, my love. by @dylankneff

Met some cool people at @prismafestival! Also dramatic Mahler, Shostakovich, and Mosolov, beautiful British Columbian nature, and late night drive thru walk-throughs. 💕 by @dylankneff

The last 2 years have both been a slog and flown by, but I’m so glad I did all of it. I met and played with some amazing people (not all pictured) who I am going to miss immensely! I’m so proud to have graduated from Miami and look forward to attending DePaul next year! by @dylankneff

Earlier this month I had the incredible opportunity to play Vivaldi’s concerto in A minor RV 499 with @renochamberorchestra and @lukepoeppel! It was some of the most fun I’ve had playing music in a long time. I feel so lucky to work for such a supportive and musically fulfilling ensemble with @kuowiththeflow and @amyoboe at the helm.

My first professional opera! Love playing with @gabrielbeavers! by @dylankneff

My mantra for the next 4 years. This isn’t the end. We can weather this storm. 💕 by @dylankneff

Last Sunday I performed my favorite recital to date! It was all music originally written for voice or in collaboration with a vocalist. We premiered @boymundane’s piece in honor of the 26th anniversary of Matthew Shepard’s death, performed Miami alumna @danakaufmanmusic’s new piece Millay Songs, and a few other fun pieces! Turn on your sound to hear some highlights 😊

I’m finding it difficult to put into words what I want to say about Dr. Carnochan. He was unexpectedly one of the best parts of coming to Frost. He was able to take in the forrest and find the individual trees that needed his attention. He was the ideal model of connecting with students individually while also maintaining a level of professionalism that allowed him to direct an ensemble or department with respect. He wasn’t afraid of asking hard questions while also knowing when to leave a situation alone.

I feel incredibly lucky that I was able to learn from him at school and connect with him personally last summer. I will never forget the smiles he would give me when I did something well in rehearsal or the conversations we had when he gave me insightful advice. His legacy is one of heartfelt music-making and friendships.

Our lives are better because of you. Rest easy, my friend. 🤍 by @dylankneff

Another great year at Festival Napa Valley! It was amazing playing with my undergrad professor Lori Wike, one of my chamber coaches Jennifer Grim, and other incredible musicians! Also good wine 😋 by @dylankneff

This trip to Austria to perform and study music was a highlight in my musical journey. I met new friends and incredible musicians, deepened existing friendships, and learned so much about the development of classical music! Huge thanks to @roymclerran for organizing this amazing trip as a student conductor and to Olga Garcia Martin for being an inspiring teacher! by @dylankneff
