First birthday crown for our little lady!
Now just to make them every year until I can’t anymore ❤️

I’m starting the process of creating felt foods for our little lady! I’ll add to her collection when I can, and when she’s old enough, the whole lot will be moved into a little play kitchen.
The eggs (felt eggs with wooden shells) and carrots are the first, but safe to say they are a hit!

Embroidery on photos has been one of my favorite crafts as of late. And of course our little lady makes the perfect subject ❤️

Had the opportunity to create a birth weight pillow of a wonderful little boy this Christmas season! He’s growing like a weed, but this will always serve as a reminder of how small he once was.

Birth weight pillows capture the birth weight and length of the baby the day they were born. I created this pillow by embroidering my design onto the fabric, and then hand-sewing the pillow after filling it to his birth weight.

Being a new mom has taught me many things, one of them being that it’s okay if things take longer to get done. Take our baby book for example. It only took 5 1/2 months, but it’s finally done!
Now to fill it with memories ❤️

Also, thank you to @objecthomewares for picking up the cover paper for me from one of their antique sourcing trips to Paris! by @e.sauter.art

It’s been 9 months of creating the best and most important work of my entire life.

I don’t think I’ll ever be able to top this ❤️

A little behind the scenes action of inking and printing the second layer of “Here Comes the Sun” back when we had warmer weather.
Without having the proper printmaking registration tools to line up each layer of each print, I had to MacGyver my own system with cardboard and hair clips. It ended up working pretty well, but I can’t wait to get a better system set up!

After nearly six months of working on these reduction prints, and trying to keep it a secret, I was FINALLY able to reveal “Here Comes the Sun” to the family of the subject - my nephew (aka the cutest little boy in all the land).

A reduction print like this is made by repeatedly carving and printing from the same block, effectively reducing the printable area of the block with each layer that is carved away. (More details and photos/videos on my process for this print coming soon!)

Although I started with 22 prints, not all the layers lined to my satisfaction, so only 12 made the final cut. This was definitely the most complicated reduction print that I’ve ever attempted, and yet it was such a rewarding labor of love. ❤️

Happy Holidays to you and yours!

I had such a lovely time drawing these two majestic beauties for one of my favorite people on this planet ❤️
Happy 30th, my fellow Libra!

There’s excitement in the beginning and satisfaction in the ending. I love it when the paint peels off in one swipe!
