Every day, millions pass through the Paris Métro, and every one of them leaves something behind. It settles into the corners of the stations, unnoticed and swept away. Artist Lionel Sabatté gathered it from Châtelet–Les Halles, one of the busiest stations in the city, and from that dust he sculpted a pack of wolves.
Sabatté composes and recomposes from the debris that human activity leaves on Earth: dust, ash, dead skin, fingernails, tree stumps, discarded coins. By giving these remnants new poetry, he shows us that loss is not only an ENDING but a necessity of LIFE. 😳 Nothing is truly wasted; it becomes something else.
He also paints with time itself. Using oxidation, he lets rust bloom across his surfaces, and he works with earth from Lascaux, echoing the cave paintings made there some 23,000 years ago.
From the newest dust to the oldest pigment, Sabatté’s work challenges our habits and questions what we value. The next time you sweep your floor, look closer. What are you actually holding ? 🐺

Our talented student just completed her ambitious work after Jamie Wyeth “The Warning.” 👏 She loves painting still life, portraits and landscapes, but especially passionate about animals and birds. Stay tuned for her next masterpiece! #jamiewyeth #seagulls #talentedartist by @earlymasters

First stop for Paris art week was the Fondation Louis Vuitton and Gustave Fayet, Collector–Designer. But who has even HEARD of Gustave Fayet?? For someone so important to the cultural scene of early-20th-century France, Fayet (1865-1925) remains relatively unknown.
He was quite the visionary (and creator himself), and was among the first to collect works by Van Gogh, to exhibit Picasso, and to establish a Gauguin “museum” in his home in the heart of Paris.
A highlight of course was seeing Vincent Van Gogh’s Self-Portrait with Bandaged Ear and Pipe. It has not been exhibited since 1937. The self-portrait immediately became one of Fayet’s favorite paintings; he always hung it in his bedroom in his successive residences.
How thrilling it was to see so many paintings that have not been seen for decades!
Bernard Arnault, head of luxury group LVMH, describes Fayet as “one of the best kept secrets in the history of Modern art”. #gustavefayet #paris #vangogh #parismuseums by @earlymasters

Here at the Louvre, everyone’s crowded around that famous lady from Florence (you know the one 😉). But just a few steps away, in the next gallery, hang THREE more Leonardo da Vinci paintings… and so many people just walk on by.
This truly is my all-time favorite: “The Virgin and Child with Saint Anne.” I think it’s Leonardo’s greatest painting.
Look at that sky! Those soft, misty blues fade back and back like they go on forever. Now look down at the rocks up front. They’re SO detailed, because Leonardo was also a scientist who studied nature up close. Together they wrap the Holy Family in a dreamy world full of mystery and the power of nature.
And my favorite tiny detail? Mary’s foot rests right on baby Jesus’ foot. So sweet and so real, just like any mom.
Tell me what detail you spotted and comment below! 👇
