🀿 TOP TIP TUESDAY: Snorkel placement If you’re struggling with water constantly getting into your snorkel, a simple adjustment may be all it takes to fix this. Check that your snorkel and mask strap position don’t submerge the snorkel tip as you swim! Got any burning questions you want answered? Let us know in the comments below! by @east2westfreediving

🀿 Top Tip Tuesday: neoprene repair Whether it was your teeth, nails or a surly sea lion, wetsuit tears have happened to the best of us. A little bit of contact cement goes a long way and can turn a leaky tear into a near invisible memory. (Best used in a well ventilated room or outside. Those fumes can hit pretty hard πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«) Have you had to repair your suit before? by @east2westfreediving
🀿 Top Tip Tuesday: Polespear Grip Premature pole release got you down? Sometimes a slight change in your grip can turn disappointment into a dream fish. A polespear can be an extremely simple and effective tool when used properly. Optimize your grip to maximize pole performance! What polespear do you use? by @east2westfreediving
Dam she THICC 🧊😍 18’’ inches of ice to be exact πŸ€―πŸ˜…πŸ’™ *Tbt* Thank you so much @freezedivers for organising an absolutely amazing weekend of freediving under the Ice! Photos and videos can’t do it justice ! The water tempt was a frosty 2Β°C (35.6Β°F) so was grateful for my super toasty 7mm open cell suit. If you are island based and planning on freediving/ spearfishing in the ocean anywhere from Tofino to Victoria a 5mm or 3mm will likely not cut it. (You really need a 7mm open cell suit to keep you warm and safe). For reference: In Victoria, BC πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ the water temperature is currently 9 Β°C and in the summer it will have highs of 12 Β°C (aka it only gets about 3 degrees warmer so it’s pretty much cold all year around) The better you get at freediving (and spearfishing) the colder you get as you spend longer on the surface doing breathe ups (not moving = losing body heat quickly = hypothermia). Download the free windy app to check water temperatures where you are planning to dive to make sure you are buying the right suit for the right water temps!
