With food support services halting due to the government shutdown, it's more important than ever to know where to go for support.

Our, GEDP's, Volunteer Coordinator has helped pull together a strong list of local resources which can help families and individuals get through this time.

Due to rain, the Hot Pepper Showdown--a.k.a the hot pepper eating contest--was rescheduled for October 10 at the @eastonfarmersmarket. If you're curious and want to enter the contest, take a pause and be prepared! Chef-writer Maddox Joachim (@m4ddoxj) wrote about the peppers that farmer Mark Reid of @eastongardenworks grows--many of which end up at this contest! He also shared a few recipes with us; it's all in our fall issue.
